UPDATED COMMENT: Just a few minutes after I posted this video, so many of you purchased the purple shampoo on Amazon that Amazon is now SOLD OUT! Wow!! Currently, JCPenney has the best price on the web. I've updated the links in the description box below the video. Just be aware that you will have to pay shipping unless you purchase a minimum amount....so I bought my favorite Clinique facial soap since I'm running low anyway. Gosh....lots of new info but there is it! And.....I did purchase the JOICO PURPLE BALANCE CONDITIONER for myself because I want to give it a try. I have used the Joico brand, and a couple of others, BUT..... my favorite brand is from Theorie. I first purchased a bottle from Marshall’s, found the companion conditioner, too. I have been using it exclusively. My favorite is the Sage scented, which is not always available, and so I have taken to ordering it online. My profile pic is from Right after chemo when I had no hair, it is a wig-I need to update it, I know! Purple shampoo really does keep your white and silver hair from looking dingy. Something I learned 20+ years ago if you have grey or silver hair, always pick a shampoo that is white or clear, otherwise the yellow from shampoo will stick to the hair shaft like a magnet, thus the yellowish color. Purple shampoo to the rescue!

I agree staying home and inside for the last year made it easy to grow my silver hair out. But I noticed the texture changed with it. Plus its growing g slower. Question: how can I get my hair to grow faster and thicker like it used too?

I don't think the issue is having Gray hair. She's addressing the discoloration that can occur w/natural Gray hair. Purple shampoo brightens it & allows your true Gray to shine through. I have Alopecia & the tuft of hair I still have is 75% Gray. I use L'Oreal brand ( Ever Pure). You only leave it on for 2 min. I wash my hair once weekly. People comment on how bright & "Silvery" my hair looks. Aging is a Beautiful process - I doubt anyone who loves life is fighting the aging process 🙂.

But some ppl, like myself began going grey at 12! (Sams as my mother) and now, at only 35 I'm more than 75% grey and absolutely hate it. I'm constantly getting my roots done to hide it until I'm in my 50s at least.

I’m a strawberry blonde, and love my red hair ~ unlike most redheads lol. I don’t look my age, so I’ve been able to continue to carry off dying it; but I know my years are numbered in colouring it. So, I’m going grey sooner than later.

You have convinced me to keep my grey. My grey grew out during covid and I have been hating my dyed hair. Looking at it I noticed my hair looks much thicker where I have not colored it. I think I will use the purple conditioner instead of the shampoo because my hair is very porous, dry, frizzy naturally so I co-poo. I am with you regarding the Skinny Serum! I have been going grey since my late thirties, and white since my mid to late forties. I was dying my hair until my mid fifties. It was beginning too be expensive. Now I use l'oreal purple shampoo. It is the best one I tried, I did try several different brands.

This makes sense. I decorate cakes on occasion. When I need a bright white icing that I have made with butter, I've learned to add just a few drops of purple good color to make the yellow in the butter become bright white. Works great for white wedding cakes.

Hi Jennifer! So you probably aren't in need of purple shampoo just yet. But if you find that makeup is discoloring your temples, you might give it a try and see how it does. In the beginning, makeup was staining the white hair around my face. I started using a cotton headband to protect my hair....and still use it every day when I'm applying my foundation and blush.

Stop banging an empty bottle. Simply put a bit of water in it shake it around and pour it out. You'll get a lot of shampoo.

It is a smashing one of a kind guide for learning how to reverse gray hair fast minus the normal expense. Ive heard some great things about it and my friend Sam at very last got excellent results with it.

Seriously though, I always keep an empty bottle and dilute any shampoo I use, I find it works so much better thinner and without the drying effect that a thick shampoo gives even purple shampoo.

I've got long, fine, white/silver/grey/brown 2c-3b hair. My favourite violet shampoo and conditioner are Light Blue Shade. Very moisturizing, have a subtle and pleasant fragrance, and are quite inexpensive. It's a Canadian brand, and is available in stores and online in Canada, and online from a few sources within the U.S.

My hair started going gray at age 29. I colored it for years but went gray several years ago. It is white, straight, very thin and stringy. I always hated my hair so I started wearing a hairpiece on top where it is the thinnest. It gives me a much better look.

I transitioned to grey a few years ago & had all color trimmed off. I later decided to cut my hair short. You have beautiful curls & think hair. My hair is fine and has absolutely no curls whatsoever 😢 . I didn't gave yellowing issues until I moved & have well water. My goodness i need purple shampoo regularly!

I was thrilled when you mentioned using purple shampoo. My white is white in the front, but the rest of my hair looked like I had a lot of blond hair. My natural hair is a brown color, use to be blond. I tried your shampoo and my white, white turned grey. Now all my hair looks like a dull grey. I set my timer and left it in three minutes. Wonder if purple works only for those with closer to black hair? Would it help if I try it again? You are blessed with your beautiful hair. I have loose curls, but baby fine hair looks thin, when I leave it natural. I use rollers to make it look thicker! Love your blog. I come away feeling happier! Thanks a million! A month later, I now wash my hair with regular shampoo, then I put my white hair in small rollers around face. I use Joico on the rest of my hair...Now my white is white. Problem solved!

I prefer the lavender tone conditioner. It doesn’t deposit so much color on the hair, and I can use it every time I wash my hair. Right now I’m using Redken Blondage. Rusk also makes a lavender conditioner, Deepshine Platinum X.

I appreciate you taking the time to do this video. My hair is very similar to yours in color and curl, and I too like Joico. Have you tried Joico Color Butter in Titanium? It's a tinted conditioner that brightens the white-silver and deepens the darker hair. If I'm feeling like I want an even bigger boost than the purple shampoo I use it. I also like Biolage's purple shampoo as it's more moisturizing than the Joico shampoo.

Your curls are goals!!! I just big chop because o want to start embracing my greys. I love your grey curls. I believe this is how l curls will be once they grow. I can’t wait. I wish this shampoo didn’t have sulphates. I try to avoid sulphate a but thinking of getting it and using it when I want to clarify.

You are so cute! Love your videos! Question, is your hair cut in layers? I have curl hair but not springy curls like yours, mine is more of a soft ringlet. I let it grow out of a short cut designed to bring my curl out and now it is all one length at the shoulders. I am ready to go back to a curly look but don't want to loose the length.

When I showed dogs we always bathed any dog with white fur or fur patches with a blue shampoo. Any other color will tinge the white/gray a dingy color. You don't need a specific brand of shampoo, but you do need a specific color of blue or purple if you don't want a yellow cast to your hair.

Thank you for doing this video. I got grey hair after it came back from chemo & have dyed it because I didn’t know about this shampoo. It wasn’t long enough to be cut, but I didn’t want the dingey hair at not even being 50 yet. I wish I had seen your video earlier, but now I know by the time it gets a decent length, I can have nice grey.

Hi Renee… I’m 70 and for the first time going to a hairdresser with my sister in law in another state!, asked if she could just cut some bangs for me she asked if I’ve ever used purple shampoo 😂 never in all the years I’ve been to my hairdresser or others before her has anyone ever recommended purple shampoo! Just found your video, thank you. I am ordering as soon as I finish this . Wanting to know what conditioner you use on your hair so I can try it.. again thanks, Cathy

I just ordered my purple shampoo and conditioner from JcPenneys (haven't purchased anything from them in a long time) but I'm excited to get it and start using it!! I'm 8 months in this journey of going gray and so far so good! Thank you for this video I really appreciate all the info.!! I’m 70 but my hair grayed like yours, the sides are white and darker in the middle and still have some dark brown hair.

This video is timed so perfectly in my life, because I literally JUST got some purple shampoo and am wondering if I’m using it correctly-seemed my hair was looking less bright-now I know why! Thank you for all the great info! Oh, can you tell me if you can use the purple shampoo every shampoo, or is that bad for your hair color or texture?

With some brands you can’t leave it in for three minutes. Mine turned purple in some places even after numerous rinses, but I received a lot of compliments for the purple look. 😇

Would purple shampoo work for salt and pepper hair? I am 68 and I do have more dark hair than grey, but it looks dull!! Most of the grey is near my bangs on top! Thanks for this video and your hair is beautiful!!!!
