JJ tooks his lumps freshman year, sat behind McNamara, didn’t pout or portal and next 2 years took M to championship. He will do same at MN. Need patience as I am certain, he will have some aggressive overthrow INT’s we are going to need to stomach. Watched every M game last 3 years and his resilience and force of attitude to overcome will wear well in purple

Vikings created the ideal situation in the OTA where Darnold and McCarthy got the most reps. Mullens and Hall got significantly less. Darnold led the first team. McCarthy led the other team. If McCarthy was “2nd”, he would have mostly just watched Darnold like Mullens did. Instead he got lots of active reps and coaching. Depth chart is meaningless at this stage. Getting reps is what matters.

How McCarthy is being instructed to position his feet in the shotgun is a Vikings’ coaching preference and not a “correct” way of doing it. They prefer left foot forward for the timing of their offense. Nothing wrong with parallel or however Harbaugh’s staff at Michigan taught it. Every QB going to a new team might have to adjust their footwork. McCarthy doesn’t have actual footwork issues like heel clicking, oversetting, hopping, etc.. Just the minor adjustments needed for KOC’s system.

They're not going to trade Mullens. He's got the experience with KOs offense. If, god forbid Darnold goes down, and they still want to insulate JJ and keep him on the path, then Mullens is still the guy to lead the offense. Mullens is a solid insurance plan. Judd's charting is actually, in my opinion, a solid record of how JJ is progressing. I used to think it was tacky, but I realized it has value.

Good stuff. I think the JJ running with the 3’s is over thinking it. He doesn’t know the offense yet. He just got there. If you put him with the first team he slows down their development and analysis. And for all the Kwesi love… he still cannot be forgiven for being fleeced in his first draft, not drafting the best safety in football-Kyle Hamilton, and instead drafting a safety who will be cut this year. That’s a first round draft pick that only made the team in his second year to save face of the management.

In September, my wife and I will be moving to Faribault Minnesota because of grandchildren being there! Ironically, I have been a die-hard Viking's fan since the Bud Grant era and, I was Born in raised in Rochester New York, go figure! Now, is God playing a joke on me moving to Minnesota? I used to joke around that we have a better chance to see the 2nd coming of the Lord than Minnesota winning a Superbowl!

I think of the reverence behind the great Vikings' names. Alan Page, Randy Moss, John Randle, Jim Marshall, Justin Jefferson; just hearing those names inspires awe in any vikings fan. Is JJ McCarthy the next name? If not him, someday the next name will join the purple and gold. When? What will he look like? How will his name echo in the minds of the Vikings faithful?

I am a fan of the Vikings, and anyone who thinks this team will be on fire in 2024, is delusional. Too many new players, too many changes in the plays especially on the defensive side of the ball. The left side offense guard is being brought in, and how long before the offensive center is down with his back, and a rookie in his place. We have no idea how long Hockensen will be ready, and we really have no idea who is wr 3 and 4 . Let’s just hope the team gels, and we can see what the office saw in this team.
