I truly hate when people think they have a solution when they don't have it so far all I have seen is a few people getting lucky I have the HDZ235 and I finally found the service manual but it's not really helping any. I guess I got no choice but to measure every damn thing on the 3 boards I was hoping to find a lead to the area that the protector circuit is the problem is the unit went into protection to protect it but it never released I don't know why and until I find the damn thing I can't help me or anyone else, in any case, I found a service manual for the HCD-DZ230/DZ231 and the DZ235. If you want a copy let me know. I can't remember where I found it or I'd drop the link I'll send you if you want or you can try and find it yourself it's out there somewhere.lol The fix is put it in the sun are you fuking with the world OMG!

guys i repair these the problem most of the time is bad smd caps more the 16volt and the 12volt one . just do the voltage checks if the voltage are down its the smd caps the big caps are fine 99% of the time

Sony was Great in the 90s before HDMI was a thing after that they would go in PROTECT mode just by looking at it wrong. I went Onkyo and never looked back

I dont have a screwdriver to remove the casing, but maybe a blow dryer or laying this thing directly in sunlight will reset it.
