This was recorded in the spring of 2020 but was never uploaded. Though it looks almost identical this H it is a different tractor : • Farmall H Moved by Kub... But is is a bit confusing unless they are side by side. Instead, they are currently nose to nose with one inside the shed door and the other outside. The note must be made now that both are up and running and all recorded on video. The first one has been converted to an alternator and this one here has remained essentially the same, time not allowing performing electrolysis on the gas tank or deeper investigation into the charging system. This one, iirc, is a 1940, and I think the first one is a '45. This older one IS however a very smooth runner and usually starts with little more than a bump of the button.
There will be a 'first start' video shortly....unless the gremlins ate the SD card or fiddled with the ones and zeros to make this H appear to be an Oliver 88 or a 77...I mean you know for a fact that strange things happen. The gas tank is pretty nasty internally after having sat at the previous owners property for years after his death with a partial tank of fuel. After its arrival here I did all that was required to get it fired up. I think I bypassed the switch with a hot wire to the coil and MIGHT have cleaned the carb.....I say 'might' have because memory fades with time and there has been at the absolute minimum 7-8 years pass since she fired the last. If you saw the gasoline can I hung on the side as a temporary fuel tank you'll remember its sat there long enough for the rust maggots to eat their way through it. That doesn't happen overnight !! So that tank, in the court of Public Opinion should serve as Exhibit #1. I rest my case......
There contains within the video a few comments about moving a heavier load with a small tractor and the things to consider when hooking to the loader. There is mention of the compounding contribution to tipping and traction while performing this action in this fashion on a hillside. Even a slight change in elevation of the terrain changes the balance point of the tractor and the higher the loader is in the air the more care should be taken.....even on the level. Now may I mention that these thoughts and opinions are not for the discerning and experienced compact tractor owner...it is merely suggestions of things new tractor owners may give pause to consider.
As stated above, the 'first start' of the '40 H is already behind us so all that remains to be done to is find it in the archives and edit it for upload. But wait a minute...You guys need to see how a Freon tank is converted easily to make a temporary fuel tank.....don't you ??
