It's worth noting that when you put it back together, it might still leak, even with new parts. I played around and what you sometimes need to do is the following; 1. Disassemble and clean up all parts as in video 2. When putting the needle back in (pointy end first) put the fuel hose on the nipple and turn the fuel tap on. Jiggle the needle to make it let fuel flow through, then push on it to stop, give it little 'rubs' to simulate float operation. Then turn the fuel back off. 3. Put the float on, don't touch the needle if you can help it, re-assemble as in the video. 4. Dont tighten the main jet screw too hard, if your seal is good, it really only needs a slight nip up If you overtighten, you squash the seal, and you also take the minute clearance the float needs to operate. 5. If it's still leaking, undo the screw, jiggle the cover a bit, then nip it back up, you may need to do this several times until BAM it's perfect. Hope this helps someone out there! Cheers.

Thank you guys for this video. I just bought a new face plate because the old bulb had a tear in it. The needle (yellow) that cuts off the fuel supply must have fallen out when I replaced the face plate and I never noticed. I was racking my brain as to why the new plate was leaking fuel until I saw this video. Bought a new needle and put it back together. Hey presto, working like a charm. Cheers!

Did you replace the primer also, or is the split meant to be there?

Very good video, it helped find out another with a Victa Vortex I am doing up. The front screw that goes into the car you body has stripped the threads in the carby body. Either need a new carby body or try fix the threads (araldite/thread tape?). Any ideas?

The Hole in which the needle goes in and out depending on the level of the float is what can be worn out, if the needle doesn't seal properly the carburetor leaks exactly as shown in this video.

hi my leaks out of the jet screw and primer bulb. when i press the primer bulb they both leak . also I have a issue when it's starts and I'm. on a slightly angle one side only it always shuts off unless I'm quick to level the lawnmower also the screw jet I can suck in but can't blow into it is this how it operates?

My carby wasn't leaking but mower wasn't running. It would start but not keep going. I took carby apart and cleaned it all. Mower still won't start. Thinking it might be the pull chord? Or should I drain all the fuel out and start again with fresh fuel?

Thanks for your post. Helped me get the mower going, and it went ok for a while, but then started surging and fading (almost to a stall), then surging to full revs again. Any ideas what might fix this? The mower has never done this before the replacement of the primer unit.

Hi what could be the problem if fuel is leaking out of the Primer but float and needle already been replaced? Cap not horizontal? my G4 Garby Had a flat rubber piece (Diaphragm) and it as a screw marked Slow and Fast on the side with the diaphragm. haven't seen that before just wondering in case I need to replace it.

I've found that even with a new primer cap there can still be some leakage. If you tighten the brass jet screw you risk stripping it. Sometimes no matter what you do to try and seal it properly, it will leak. It could be because the carby warps slightly, is there anything you can do in that case to ensure a better seal?
