I don't know if anyone picked up that he put the piston in wrong!! Make sure the Victa is facing up on the conrod, also the locating ring tabs must face the inlet side / carburettor side. Also I found using a 21mm open end spanner to remove the conrod bolt and a shifter to turn the spanner, locking pliers are too bulky and a pain to turn. I would recommend a quick hone on all ring replacements. If you do hone remember fast is better as it creates a vortex creating a perfect circle, going to slow will create a out of shape bore. If your going to go oversize like 20 or 40 thou always keep checking so you don't blow it. If you can it be better off getting it bored out at a workshop as honing that much out will give your cylinder too much slop. I tried to go 20 thou but I found the inside has less wear than the front therefore its hard to get a perfect cylinder from a drill honing tool. The piston was fine at top dead centre but jammed in the back so I had to use electrical tape on the stone to get the back down without removing any more from the front. the piston Kit we sell suits both the Newer Type Power torque Engine and the earlier Full crank engines that have a removable cylinder, So should be universal for any 160cc Victa.

just curious why didn't you guys replace the needle bearing in the top part of the con rod? it will blitz the bottom end if she goes, not bashing you guys just curious that's all? Im sure there made better then they are now but I always replace them when I rebuild a top end..

Well did the mower start after the rebuild ?

I have a tornado which has the longer blade boss. The engine is knackered, but I have another engine from a different machine with the shorter blade boss. Can I swap the shorter boss on the replacement engine, for the longer one I need that is on the knackered engine? Cheers folks 👍🏿

is there timing on a victa 2 stroke? mine is pull cord kickback and white puff of smoke from decompressor.. but i cant find anything on the internet about timing on a 2 stroke victa engine, only 4 stroke?

Looks like you've got the ring end gaps facing the exhaust, does it matter which way they face?

Can someone help me with the orientation of the piston. I removed the piston to clean but at assembly I noticed that the indent at the gudgeon pin hole is off-centre. Which way must the piston be inserted with the larger offset towards the inlet or outlet port?

This mower didn't look like it had done much work to warrant a new piston from use. Did the owner not mix oil through the petrol?

If Your engine looks the same as the one featured in this video then it is the Victa Powertorque Engine and the process should be the same or very similar.
