BEST WAY TO GROW SEEDS - • Hydrogen Peroxide and ...
Some Roses are easier to root than others and that’s why we use a rooting hormone. It will help stimulate the rose cutting to encourage root growth. There are different methods to storing your rose cuttings after the rooting hormone has been applied.
Make sure the rose plants are not in direct sunlight and the wound is sealed and kept moist. If the conditions are correct like temperature and light with the right amount of moisture you will begin to see some roots emerge as little white knobs at the end of the cutting. This will take place in just a few weeks.
Let the roots grow out at least an inch or two before planting into the soil. Again, do not plant your newly rooted rose cutting into direct sunlight. It will stress the roses out and they will die rapidly which will waste your time. Leave them in a shaded area with temperatures ideally between 70-80 degrees F.

OMG! I hate cutted Roses because they live only a few days. I will try this trick or solution tomorrow morning... I'm really excited if it works. done this since I was 9... its an old technique but can't say I've ever had an issue :) .. every rose worked out.. grew healthy so good video helping out people who may not know this method :)

Of all the stem cuttung/growing videos I have watched tbis was simple and a no brainer for me. I have some cuttung at the moment so will be doing this in the next few days. Yes, as long as the original was not a chimera (and even then you can probably get both cell lines in the cutting). It might not be as vigorous as a grafted plant tho.

My dad did these things so he could start plants he liked for free. I am pretty sure that he explained it like this - the rose node is ready to sprout, use growing medium of your choice on it and it will sprout / the inside of the potatoe is starch, aka sugar which the rose is utilizing as its food. Since the potatoe hasn't even got any sprouting nodes at present and at least 3 are needed for optimal sprouting growth so when placed in soil mixture it will really get growing or potatoe will need to get older to start sprouting (usually ones left in their bags creating at least some condensation, will sprout faster), so the rose will have eaten, sprouted and be ready to plant by the time the potatoe will sprout. They will not be hybrids. That is an entirely different process I believe my dad explained it as the manual pollinating process from their flowers to make a hybrid of 2 plants, of various flowers, etc., for sure, otherwise Mother Nature and bees, insects, etc. will take care of it. I do not think so but I am not even sure that a potatoe and a rose would be able to pollinate each other?

I use willow cuttings soaked it water. I put cuttings in the liquid! It works but not as well as the commercial rooting hormone.

wow what a great way to get a second plant out of a favorite rose bush. It's hard to grow roses in Florida however. You really have to make it a full-time job down here. New Jersey where they get the prescribed at least six weeks of fries and wealth just the soil is so much better up there I have some really prize roses and here in Florida it's almost impossible :-(

How do you remove the cutting from the potato after it has developed roots? Or do you plant the whole thing? But why the need for potato and Clonex? I have had rose cuttings growing roots in just water or soil.

Torgeir Molaug He said you plant the entire thing either in your yard or a pot if you want to do indoors. The potato will decompose in the soil which will in turn feed the rose stem/plant.

I am new to gardening sorta, I was doing it a few years ago then I got gravely ill and either homebound ( not able to even touch plants or go outside) or in the hospital... so now I'm trying to get back into it but my plants keep dying!! I killed all my clients house plants while house sitting and idk how. I watered them etc.. my mom can grow anything!!! I read many books and read many articles. I watched videos and KZfaq as well!! When I was in college i studied this/Botany and crossbreeding etc.( was a Pharm major and I also wanted to learn how to grow and use holistic herbs and cannabis for alignments!! What if I don't have a lemon tree?? Can I use seeds or could I use any cuttings like hydrangeas, peonies, string of pearls plant, etc.. ?? With the Potatoee!! How long do you keep them in the potatoee?? I love your videos thanks

You can damage the rose cutting if you just shove it in and your putting it onto dead potato particles if you just shoved them in no need to get so upset over a drill bit

are you talking about rooting? or just as a cut flower? Just asking, i have rooted thousands of plants over the past 15 years this way. But my chest isn't puffed out as I have been humbled many times and always looking for advice. What do you recommend?

For all of you that say this doesn't work. Please be aware that it can take 10 or more months for new growth with this method. Do not be discouraged it does work. Most people seem to think that you will get roots in a few weeks this is not the case. It would have been nice if the person that did this video added a time line for all of you people that probably tossed your rose. 😊

It will work alright, you'll be getting a nice set of potato leaves growing shortly in the soil, but the rose cutting will dry up and not grow .. I should know, I've tried this ..

Think covering the top of the stem adds up as it retains moisture ? Atleast thats my experience but them mostly I put them in a plastic cup of water.

Gerrod Richardson You're talking about animals, which God did give us reign over. We have been able to domesticated many for good and fruitful blessings for many. We've been given reign over species of various degrees of intelligence, which IMHO we've been very negligent about. These are plants and by refining strains of even say, rice, we've fed billions. How could that be a sin? I believe that knowledge has been a blessing and I applaud this gentleman's video and sharing of his knowledge!! Many, like me, enjoy roses and appreciate all that they provide us - not just in scents. For those who are of limited means, this knowledge is truly a blessing. At any rate, I came here to see and receive knowledge of being able to save the roses that my wonderful husband surprises me with as frequently as is affordable, and it saddens me to throw them away when they are a luxury he knows I enjoy . I didn't come here for a theology discussion and apologize if I have offended anyone. Thanks so much for the video!!!

Gerrod Richardson he's NOT hybriding the potato and the rose together. he's using the potato to sustain the life of the rose stem like a natural fertilizer, he explains that as the potato decomposes, it feeds and waters the rose stem (@4:11) watch it again and listen to the explaination carefully
