I was at this match, when I saw the schedule I made sure I got their early for a seat because I knew there would be drama. It was epic. After the match I walked right past Yulia outside and she was going ballistic at her coach and stormed off in a huge huff.

that reminds me of when I was at the US Open last year! I watched a match of hers - when she beat Anisimova - and afterwards I was wandering about in the walkways of the grounds, and she walked RIGHT by me! Lol. I love that about tennis! I said "good match" to her, by she either didnt hear me or ignored me. I should have said her name. She probably would have said thanks if she heard her name.

Some tennis tournament need to set up a Jeļena Ostapenko vs Putintseva match in the near future. This would be an all time epic drama!!! I totally would love to see it again. It's been too long!

Those two should only be allowed to play each other.
@ultrustic2 жыл бұрын
@@davidbrock2871 those 2 actually played a very tight match in 2019 with Ostapenko coming behind in the last set after being down in the first and third set. A few minor dust up in the net of Jelena, but otherwise drama free. Eventually these two will stir up stuff when calls don't go their way. I would love to Jelena calling for timeout or Putintseva ranting and raving about weird stuffs during the match. This would be epic meltdown!

They both had their drama moments. I'm surprised they don't have a better mental game at this level. You can't get your mind in the zone if you keep complaining to your coach in the crowd. You don't see Roger or nadal looking at their coach everytime they lose a point. You got to keep your mind on the court.

I like Yulia. She has a very bad reputation - and understandably so - but she is actually pretty cool, and a good person. I was lucky enough to be at the US Open last year, when she played Amanda Anisimova - a huge crowd favorite (and by the way, a huge favorite among the GUYS, I noticed); and Yulia beat her soundly while Amanda rather strangely fell apart. After the match, in the interview, Yulia was very cool about it; she was very much aware of what happened - that she was not the favorite, being that Amanda was a New Jersey girl; and also, that Amanda beat herself. It was a very classy, and gentle-*lady*-like interview. If you ask me, she can have as many outbursts as she likes during a match. Lol. I don't blame her! tennis is a damn frustrating sport.
