I can't stress enough how much I appreciate your existence. I've discovered your music only 2 months ago or so, and you've given me so many emotions and so much inspiration that I've finally completed my first song ever. "It's all downhil from here". Thank you guys.

The part about motif development always sticks out to me a lot in your songs, especially on Graves it's super prominent. I really like that detail because it allows you to write long and fleshed out songs while retaining a lot of the cohesion. Keeps it from sounding disjointed with a ton of different ideas or riffs, also builds catchiness in a way. Great video though, thanks for taking the time to do this, the amount of effort you guys put in is very cool.

This was super fun and informative! I would absolutely watch hours of this content. Thanks for sharing with us! Also shout out to Jim for posting this in r/progmetal so that I could see it sooner (YT algorithm insists on showing me trash instead of the stuff I actually sub to and enjoy).

I listen to the new album everyday at least once since it was released. It was/is the album that 2020 needed. A little aggression and uplifting and soaring sounds and vocals that can make you feel happy and energetic or sad. Great work. It is also great to hear the evolution from the previous albums. The new album is different but still very Caligula's Horse Sam's guitar sound is very emotive and very much his own. And Jim's voice is just a standout in the industry and is very recognisable. The thing I liked is everyone got to shine on this album individually but it came together as a collective amazingly well. When will you be touring the new stuff in Australia?

This is VERY interesting to me though as a sound engineer and producer. They are the most fucking amazing band on the planet and it’s fascinating to have a peek into their process. I mean come on he mentions the “tessitura” of the song. These guys are expert composers. I had to look it up…..

I've long loved CHorse and I love Rise Radiant but for me, well I really struggle with the mix of RR. Some songs sound so beautifully crystal clear (esp the drums in Salt
@incitatus6343 жыл бұрын
I think it was a mastering problem. It's so damn loud that it's very hard to listen sometimes. I prefer less compressed mixes with a bit more clarity although the composition is damn killer. I wish I could hear all the nuances without so much loudness.
@tronlady12 жыл бұрын
I couldn’t agree more. Less is DEFINITELY more n as much as CH are my favourite band of the last 3 years, the production is WAY too dense for me at times, particularly on IN CONTACT. There are TONS of lyrics I just can’t make out at all. However this might be a good thing as this is another tasty layer yet to uncover! I did love the more open sound on THIEF 💕

God I miss protools. The UI is so easy on the eyes. I bought into cubase and even tho it’s better than it was, it’s still shit and full of clutter and features nobody needs!
@tronlady12 жыл бұрын
This is just as I’ve always suspected from c horse. The arrangements are way too dense! There is so much going on there that you can’t even hear it. I don’t see the point in that. Don’t get me wrong they are my favourite band but it wud be interesting to hear them start stripping things down. Very surprising as this album sounds less dense than the others!!!!
