Putting a Reverse Cam in the W203 Mercedes

Adding a backup camera to the Merc, took a few turns to get there, but happy with the end result.

Excellent Video mate and an answer to my prayers. I couldn't figure out the best routing for the Wires and I still have to deal with how I mount my Camera. I do have a mount for the Safety Triangle in the Boot/Trunk lining that's a mystery as to how that gets removed which has proved problematic. Nice how you kept it real by breaking a plastic tab, there hasn't been one time yet were we haven't broken at least one (even with the prying tools). Thanks for taking the time to show us so that we at least have a chance of doing it over a weekend.

Thanks for the kind words, hope this helped you out a bit with your wire runs, the wiring was actually really easy on this on VS some of my other cars, being able to pull through the back seat was the key, not having to take any of that apart.

we'll see what happens with that car, it's been dead reliable since i did the little bit of work it needed. and honestly that's the most unmoddable car i've ever seen.. there are 0 parts available for it. but, if it needs anything, i'll be sure to record it.

You wrote this 2022 and minus 10 is 2012 which was the latest w204s and a few years later w205 came out. The car in the video is a w203.

Good video, it’s best to go along the roof with the cables as it’s faster and less trouble, nothing to really brake, wireless options are even better.

I don't use anything wireless unless absolutely necessary. And the roof could be an option if your jsut stuffing them into the trim. But if you go along the floor the car already has cable paths built into it all the way down its not bad at all to run them

How’d you get from trunk into back door sill? And why across the driver seat to center instead of under dash? And the hole for camera wire is directly behind the license plate? Thanks!

Mm and is the reverse trigger from the back reverse light parallel to the av cable ran to the HU and then to the HU reverse trigger line in?

no unfortunately it' seems you can't change it, so it's a little washed down in the day but good at night.

What inch is your bluetooth touch screen? It sit pretty flush. Did you use double din bracket or no?

The whole unit was one specially made for the C230, it was a bolt in. I belive I had a link in the description, but I also belive last I looked it wasn't avalible anymore

You need to remove the trunk liner inside and there are popclips that you can squeeze from the back and it'll pop out. Be gentile those clips like to break

@@deadpixelmedia3171 fuck, i have w211 2007 and it was totaly diffrent. Under the liner there were 2 screws and 1 hidden Under the licence plate... Cars from the same year can be build so diffrent

Even with the screws being the plate you should still have thsoe pop clips. If you don't they may all be broken. And is yours a couple or sedan? They may be different between the 2

Every w203 should have it. It's an alarm which warns you about lights being on. It says either close the door or pull out the key on the dashboard. If yours is not working it definitely needs a fixing

@@johnh9200 lol ohh OK now I get it, I didn't remember that he said he was ganna look it up and that's what you were referring to with "i'm guessing the internet must have been correct." It's the blue and grey wire if anyone needs that info btw. I did mine, '06 c230 sport about a week ago

IT is the Blue and Grey, or was on mine, i always recommend you test it with a test light or a meter before tapping into any wires though.
