One sign of a good worker is the ability to jump from task to task without losing your place. You've really proven yourself in that ability. One question though: did you leave a full inch of overhang or 3/4" (the actual thickness of a 1x4)?

Purlins go on a roof, those are Girts.

Matt, the Castle/Lighthouse is getting pretty close to the exterior being finished and it's looking good. Can't wait to see the siding up and corner trim on. It's definitely going to be spectacular I'm sure. A little tip on overlapping boards. Wait to trim the board to be trimmed till the next side is on. Then use that board as a guide and use a Sawsall to trim the overlong board you'll get perfectly matching ends. Using the other method can leave you with unmatched trimmed ends.

For what it is worth, I learned everything I know about house construction from Norm and Tommy. And if you don't know who I am talking about, you are in serious trouble.
