Best OST in the entire series don’t @ me

Final Fantasy XIII-2 is honestly in my top 5 Final Fantasy games (probably fourth behind VI, IV and IX), but I don't really hear much positivity about it online, so I'm really happy to see someone else who loves it like I do. It does so many interesting and unique things, fixes a lot of problems that XIII had, the OST is amazing, the villain is great and I actually really like Serah as the lead. I could probably go on about the game all day, but your video covers most of it really well. The game deserves to be much more popular than it is and I will continue to shout from the mountaintops that it is the most overlooked Final Fantasy in the series.

I still believe Caius is one of the best villains in the entire series and no one can convince me otherwise.

So glad that FF XIII-2 is finally getting the re-evaluation it deserves. This game really makes a case for JRPG’s being shorter because this game is all killer no filler. Just a blast throughout, killer soundtrack, great art design and the paradigm system at its finest. The only negative is that this game indirectly ruined the perfect ending XIII had but when the trade off is one of the low key best FF games it’s totally worth it.

It's a hate fest ff13 trilogy there are not bad games they have flaws yes but they are fantastic games.Story could be hard to follow in 13 but 13-2 is amazing everything about it.

This is such a great game and the 13 trilogy is actually solid. 13-2 being the best FF in awhile. A lot of people hate on the series and never played them or even bother trying. Also linear doesn't mean bad

I really don't like XIII but XIII-2 is easily one of my favorite FF games and Caius is one of the best villains.

FXIII-2 STANS RISE UP! In all seriousness, I really love seeing this game getting some well deserved appreciation. Thank you for making this video. Similarly to you, this game was both my first FF and my first JRPG. Just from the intro alone I was completely hooked into the experience, even though the combat system was something completely alien and strange to me. It absolutely changed my way of perceiving and enjoying videogames; I had never played anything so ambitious, so focused on its characters and story telling and, honestly, so very much out there with its setting, scenarios and aesthetic. To this day it is still one of my favorite games ever and I genuinely see FFXIII-2 as one of the best games in the franchise. Sure, it might not be perfect, but it is overall a pretty fun package with endearing protagonists, a great antagonist, a festival of bangers for a OST (also one of the best videogame soundtracks ever imo) and a phenomenal ending. It also has fun features like the paradox endings, the minigames, the live triggers, the monster catching mechanic, the QTE's that function as finishers in boss battles and the recaps that appear every time you get back to the game voiced by different characters.

People complained that 13 was to linear and basic so they answered that call with 13-2. Anyone that's explored the depths of this game will know that they've creating an incredibly complex and beautiful game.

After 12, I was okay with 13 having a story focus and a decent main character. Yeah, Vanille is annoying in a really awkward "turn the volume down or your neighbors will get ideas" type way, and bird hair is absolutely weird, but this trilogy was really good and I didn't EVER expect people to hate it as much as they did.

This made me smile from ear to ear hearing you talk about this game I love. You've earned yourself a subscriber.

This was the first game I impulse bought. I was literally just walking around a Target when I saw the shiny cover of this game. Being like 13 yrs old I asked my mom for it, she surprisingly said yes, and what followed was a really fun video game. Only years later did I even hear about how widely panned the first game was. I just saw the screenshots on the back and it looked sick. After watching this vid, I honestly wanna do another run and see if I still think the same a decade later.

Just started this last week! Finally put in the effort to beat XIII after the first video and it ended up being way better than my first attempt years ago with your perspective informing the playthrough. Loving the sequel so far!

Even though I've only managed to beat XIII-2, I do know the entire trilogy in and out thanks to it being a special interest of mine. Hearing someone speak so highly of my favorite entry in the trilogy really made my day and I appreciate you creating such a well crafted video covering it. This game will forever be my favorite FF game, and nobody can stop me.

I was surprised to see you make this video after the insane copyright strikes on the previous one - but once you started explaining your history with this game and what it means to you, it made sense that you wouldn't back down. As a big fan of 13, I've always been interested in this game - but I've never played it. I LOVE monster taming mechanics. I love that you can pick and choose which monsters you want to use in your paradigms, and some are better than others. So you can start with monster A as a healer, then later find a more powerful monster B and swap A for B. I feel like 13-2 and Lightning Returns took some elements from FFX-2, but polished and refined them for the vastly different world and story. FF13-2 is vastly underrated and often gets overlooked because of the negative opinion so many have for the first in the series. Thanks for highlighting what mades FF13-2 such a fantastic game!
