I once lived at a location where police frequently radar enforced an exceedingly low speed limit. When I noticed them I would place :"Speed trap ahead" signs long side the road to warn drivers. A few times I was threatened with arrest for "obstructing. I would point out that by placing those signs I was increasing public safety because all those who were speeding slowed down when they saw the signs.. Te only thing I was obstructing was the revenue generated from tickets issued.

There were multiple HUMONGOUS 25 mph signs and the one city cop I saw was rolling through town at said 25 mph. I make sure I am at 14 mph or lower so there is no way in hell I will get a ticket, they cost a fortune here.... Cops get to break the law on and off duty and get away with it. Speed Limits Window tint darker than the law allows for ANY vehicle, AND now they are allowed to have dark tint on the windshield so you cannot see the cop, or if a cop is actually in the car. While we are not allowed to have ANY tint on the windshield. Hell they would probably ticket a driver with 100%Clear tint on the windshield to prevent the heat and UV rays...

We don't make ALOT of money, and every month, we budget almost every dime we make just to stay afloat. I always make sure I follow the law bc I know that we don't have the money to pay fines and such, and this was no exception. Of course, the cop didn't care, and gave me the ticket with a smile on his face and a "have a great day ma'am" at departure. I was just trying to slow down bc the speed limit had dropped from 45mph to 40mph, and I had only made it to 42mph when I passed the 40mph sign. Andrea Jimenez Invest in a Radar Detector. Even if you're not the speeding type, a low-end R.D. can give you enough warning to slow down if you're doing 5 over. Even the most expensive RDs are cheaper than speeding tickets + insurance rate increases.

Littlestown PA-- speed limit when you arrive in town is 25 but the cops pick up out-of-state cars, all PA drivers get away with higher speeds. The problem is that the speed changes after you come down the hill from MD and normally there is a municipal cop waiting. Of course the slow speed applies for all directions entering the town -- from Hanover, Gettysburg, Taneytown MD.

There's a few speed traps on I-5 from Vancouver WA to Longview that I drive a few days a week. I've seen so many people getting pulled over. The speed limit is 70 and everyone does 80. I've gone 80mph past troopers and nothing happens. I see a beat up old car do 75 and they get pulled over. I noticed that they go after people in older cars. At least they don't pull people over and steal your property like other states do.

Speeding is not a public safety issue; it's not a crime; thus a citation by default is a false claim because no damages exist; the only thing that does exist is respecting public servants over their masters the sovereign people and that is an abomination.

These departments know all the locations in the city where the speed limit drop from 45 to 25 and back to 45 within a block. You don't even have time to slow down before the cops are pulling you over. I was working on a side of town that was just being developed and they literally put a magnetic speed limit sign that was 25mph over a 35mph and a bike cop hid behind a sign. After about 2 hours, he took it down and left. I wish camera phone's were prevalent back then.

Nothing surprises me with crooked cops, or well cops. I filmed a cop with my phone a couple years back. He had his lights on and was speeding. I wasn't to close to him but I kept up with him speeding to see where he went. He went to a fast food drive thru. I was speeding behind him and got close. I pulled right behind him in the line. After I got my food and pulled out the cop pulled me over. I still had my phone filming and was holding it up when he walked up to me and saw my phone. He said "do you know why I pulled you over?" I said yes. Do you know why I was speeding because I have it all recorded on my phone if you want to see me having to speed to keep up with you and you only speeding to go to a fast food joint. Then I asked him if I was free to go and he said yes sir. I sent footage to the police dept. but they did nothing. I film then when they do that shit and keep footage.

There's four elements for speeding tickets to be issued: 1). must be an accident. 2). Must be injured, harmed , or damaged victim. 3). Must be a properly filed claim or complaint by the victim ( if a death, by a family member) . 4). A determination of a reasonable man's opinion of a responsible speed in a given scenario. This is where you give notice that you wish the codification of the law be unrolled and read into the record...

I drive a black Mercedes. A 30 year old 500 SEC. Kind of a beastly looking car and I am constantly finding police behind me. Many have pulled me over fishing for something (I know my rights and politely decline to talk). I pay strict attention to speed limits so that I don’t get a ticket. Thankfully some of the local police are now leaving me alone because I met them at a meet and greet late last year, introduced myself by handing over two dozen donuts and asked them if they could please recognize my car (it’s the only one in the county) and cut me some slack. Now they typically wave at me when I drive by. How sad we need to bribe cops with donuts to catch a break.

Free thinker logic? Right to travel and operating a motor vehicle are 2 very different things. Before you even say it, YES a car IS a motor vehicle. Please do not quote some early 1900's federal mandate on what a motor vehicle is... That does not apply. Since then classifications of motor vehicles is State regulated, not federally since about 1940 ish?

I recall a trap on an unfinished section of highway with low traffic in NJ years ago, downhill section, just after an overpass, Cop would park on the shoulder, hidden by the hill and overpass and jump people all the time as they gained speed down the hill. Then, a guard rail appeared, blocking his parking spot, in a place where there was no hazard to guard against, other than the cops. I assume he ticketed someone in the highway department who had the power to get the rail installed :)

_"If they're just driving from point "A" to point "B", they're supposed to follow the same traffic laws as anyone else."_ 100% correct. However, cops view themselves as sovereign citizens, even though they'd never admit it and tend to view people who know and stand up for their own rights as sovereign citizens. "Sovereign citizen" is defined as a person who doesn't believe the laws apply to _them._ This is an excellent description of cops, not people who know and want to _obey_ the law.

Speed traps are nothing but a cashcow. While I was guilty of speeding, I was pissed when I got pulled over because my town had a very busy event and drivers are always on their phones and running red lights, and people are always crossing. Instead the officers on the bike decided to speed trap near my house. They cared about revenues and taking money from its own residents over safety. Stupid thing is my brother got pulled over 13 minutes prior.
