PVC Rabbit Cage (Grow Out Cage)

I wanted to make a rabbit cage that was lighter, easier to build, and more portable than my previous setups made with a wood frame. PVC is light and somewhat affordable (though there was a little sticker shock). the cage frame is made entirely of 2" schedule 40 PVC and fittings. This means the internal diameter is 2".
Follow along as I put together a frame with no glue/screws to support an 8' wire cage. This cage has a divider in the middle for two 4' sections. There is a little door that can be opened to give young rabbits the run of the entire cage. Thanks for following along. Please look us up on facebook: / kcaranchrabbitry

The PVC idea gave me an idea for a easier to slide rabbit tractor over my garden areas.

Very NIce! I wonder how PVC frame would hold up if on wheels. I hope you give us a follow up in time & let us know how this frame held up over the winter. Thanks a bunch for sharing! :-)

Yes, I have for sure been waiting breathlessly for your next video. 😜 All kidding aside...very nice job on the project. It should definitely be easier to move around. I would have still glued the pvc joints together I think. Daisy agrees with me since you didn't get the first hand shake 🤷‍♂️

If you fill pvc with sand it'll help make it more stable during storms etc.

I live in a very similar style neighborhood and really want to start a rabbitry (1 buck, 2 does). was wondering how bad the smell of manure is and whether or not you think it affects your neighbors. Great video and awesome build!

Thank you. We have since moved out to 21 acres in the country but we had no problems with the rabbits. We would wake up the waist and put it in the bags or put it into our raised bed garden. The neighbors did complain about our Quail being a little loud but other than that it was ok

Did you have to buy bigger T’s than your pipe.. there is a lip on the inside is mine that won’t let the t go down farther

I ended up having to cut a slit in the bottom of the t’s and sand down the lip on the inside to make the t’s slide along the pipe for the bottom of the frame. Otherwise the build turned out good!

Adding the cage to it strengthens it up a lot. Yes it is a little wobbly without the cage inside. I also anchored it down with short garden stakes and fencing wire so that the wind can't blow it over. It's been going strong now for almost 3 years

I don't. I wish I would have made one. But shouldn't be too hard to reproduce if you take notes during the video. As long as the inside holds your cage, you should be good.
