I have had it for 6 years now and it has never worked, thanks to your video on KZfaq, by adjusting some settings BlackMagic Design Intensity Pro 4K works perfectly and can serve what I bought it for, thank you again greetings Frank,

That TBC needs a "sync" source - as in "house sync" - in a pinch you could try to feed it any black signal from a camcorder, DVD player, something stable.

4 years later, but I guess any image input to OBS from an external source usually has an audio lag. You have to specify at post. Look at how many miliseconds of difference you have, and then maybe is fixed if it's adjusted at OBS the ms difference. Even then, maybe you have a difference. IDK but that's how i solved some issues like that.

I ended up getting an HDMI to RCA adapter to output the audio from an HDMI source such as Blu-Ray to fix the audio distortion, and had to play around with the audio delay as well to get it synced up.

I bought one last year. It always has trouble with audio sync when capturing to uncompressed video, even though it's just SD. Compressed video does not seem to have the problem. And it's not a storage or computer bottleneck; it's running with a Ryzen 9 5950X, 64GB Ram, and dedicated (as in, not the boot drive) 2TB Samsung PCIE 4 NVMe drive. BTW, Blackmagic's website no longer mentions the TBC capability of this device.

Hi.... Is it possible capture the video with this card with VirtualDUB instead Blackmagic Media Express????

So if you have a ADVC-3000 then is best to just capture via it's own DV/1394 output to firewire on the pc and just eliminate any sort of capture card at all then? Or were you not happy with the quality of the firewire capture?
@piosvideolab3025
@piosvideolab3025 2 күн бұрын
Hi @edoneill6701, with the Firewire DV method, you're capturing compressed and then you're going to compress it again when going to DVD or another playback method. The ADVC-3000 allows component output, that along with the Intensity Pro card, I can capture in a lossless codec and have a better starting point in terms of quality. Although, keep in mind you'll need the drive speed and capacity if your capturing lossless.

@@piosvideolab3025 Thank you so much for the reply. I have a Sony DVMC-DA2 analog to dv convertor, and it works, but I was trying to explore options for even better capture from VHS. And have started searching youtube to find higher quality capture methods. On the forums people seem to rave about going back to an ATI ALL-IN-WONDER, but I was hoping there was other alternatives without having to use outdated PC hardware/software just to run such an old video card.

Did you ensure your TBC on the source S-VHS deck was switched OFF, so that only one TBC is active in your analog capture workflow?

Honestly, that never crossed my mind. I'm assuming you're referring to the Hotronic TBC issue I had? The VCR's TBC might have been throwing the Hotronic off balance. I thought it might have to do with genlocking, but when I genlocked it with my camera it didn't improve the stableness either. Thanks for the tip.

Hi, Does pc capture card walk hand in hand with bluray player? i have card like this, but 1 gen older model? it does not have fan. i have also exact same hdmi splitter as you :D i only tried hdmi, not yet composite cables. when i jump between component and hdmi on obs, it gives me some flickering for while and then black, hdmi is just black i tought this maybe be broken, i found this from local junk/crapyard but as i watched your video, maybe this device is not so practical :D i try tomorrow connect older console with ypbpr component cable if that can run :P

Great review! Quick question: is it possible to use this card to get a live feed into Resolve, then do color correcting (basic) on this live feed? The reason i ask is because i'd like to use it for studio photography. So i'd take the live video HDMI output from my Sony A7 camera, feed it into the Intensity Pro 4K, then this comes up live in Resolve and i can do some basic color correcting on this live input video and see the result directly in Resolve. And then, if that works, feed the output to it's own dedicated monitor? (i read this is only possible if you have two different Black Magic pci-e cards because the same card can't input and output simultaneously - perhaps you also have an opinion on that?)
@piosvideolab3025
@piosvideolab3025 11 ай бұрын
I guess I'm confused on how you plan to color correct a live feed? You can't color correct a clip as it's being fed into the system. It would have to be captured first, then that clip color corrected. I've been able to feed in an hdmi signal from a Roku device and output the hdmi signal to a TV by bypassing the HDCP protocol, but I not sure about your situation. I use mine more for archival captures than hdmi video streaming myself, so I wouldn't be the best person to ask on that. Sorry.

Thankfully I happened to have a device that could keep the audio and video in sync. A lot of people probably thought they got a defective card after their initial tests. It really just makes BlackMagic Design look bad and probably cost them future customers.

aspect ratio are ratios BTW. That is to say X TO Y, not X BY Y. X BY Y would give you a matrix. Just saying.

According to their website... I'd be more concerned with storage setup than specs if you PC is somewhat recent. Operating Systems Blackmagic Design Capture cards are compatible with the following operating systems: Windows 8 64 bit Windows 10 64 bit Ubuntu 18.04 64 bit CPU Requirements In general, you should choose a CPU that meets or exceeds the system requirements of the software application you are planning on using. Please check with software vendor for additional information. Memory Blackmagic Design recommends a minimum of 8GB of memory for all systems. Graphics For optimal performance, an accelerated graphics card is recommend for use with DeckLink, Multibridge and Intensity cards. Please see the Graphics Card Requirement Tech note regarding appropriate graphics cards for our products. Storage You will require hard drive storage with your Blackmagic card that can provide a data rate greater than that of the video compression you are using. Physical Installation Requires a computer with available PCI Express slot with adequate number of PCI Express lanes and PCI Express generation. Blackmagic PCI Express Cable Kit (available separately) is recommended for use with UltraStudio 4K Extreme 3 when connecting to a computer via PCI Express. DeckLink SDI Micro requires an M.2 connector. uncompressed - good luck! for 187 secounds of 4K Video you need around 100GigaByte of M.2 Discspace. i wish all they want to do this good luck you need a Ryzen7 2700x 4200MHz, X470, M.2, if you think you can do this with a SSD you're wrong! this is to slow you need at minimum 2400Mbit/s write a SATA3 SSD is with around 530Mbit/s write and this is definitive to slow. Use compressed Video for your Project. I open up my Box and i found in two SD-Cards with one program Media-Express for recording the Intensity Pro 4K under Windows 10 the secound SD-Card should hold Davince-Resolve 16 beta but on this SD-Card was nothing only the format. So i download it from the BlackMagicDesign site and install it. The was unlucky the DavinciResolve 16beta don't work on my Win10pro with a RX580 Radeon Grafic Card. The program talking something about a bad Grafic Card that don't support Video on my RX580? I'm wondering with Davinci-Resolve 15.3.1.300 everything is working also with the hint that the RX580 is not supported and it is a useless Card! I think so that they don't want support the non-Invidia Group like AMD - maybe it is so i don't know that during i bought my new PC earlier then this post. (ago 3 weeks) Ago 2 weeks i get my new Intensity Pro 4K Card. Now i have the Problem i would like to make my Videocuts on my Linux Mint 18.3 System but this is not possible and the reason is clear i have the wrong PC with AMD Graficcard! I can't record the Video with Win10 Media-Express on the M.2 SSD because after rebooting my Linux Mint 18.3 the Linux mean that the M.2 SSD make wrong things and i can't mount it under "rw" conditions only in "ro" mode so this is bad because i would like to cut the Video in Kdenlive on Linux. Maybe you know a program where i can record on Linux with my Intensity Pro 4K the reason is i can't found a Linux Program for my Card.
