Kind of reminds me of a situation me and my gf dealt with. Had a 2 man brig chase us for over an hour trying to attack us and possibly spawn camp us for an hour. Took a rowboat from the back and snuck all the loot away while they chased her and sold it, then went to finish the merchant voyage and found a mega keg on the ship, so we went and had some fun using it on them and sinking them for trying to sink us

Props for including your mess up with buring the mega kegs. You could have easily left that part out but it was an awesome learning experience for those who don't know.

I just want to take the time to say thank you Phuzzy. I used to be mainly a PvE player that had no experience with PvP and would get brutally sunk every time I would get attacked but thanks to watching a lot of your videos, it has helped me improve and learn how to defend myself. There are so many times I've felt hopeless and wanted to quit the game but your videos always give me hope and reignite my passion for the game.

this is exactly the kind of way i do things, minus making myself a target. but when it comes time to be the hunted, then i use these kinds of things to defend myself in all different ways. The funny thing about sweats in PVP is that they often overlook the threat that kegs always are. Newbies are too afraid of them, but sweats are often not afraid enough.

This scenario reminds me of playing mind games in fighting games like Street Fighter, where the goal is to be at least one layer above where your opponent's mind is at.

That's kinda funny that they never suspected a keg of any kind. It reminds me if when someone attacked me and my buddy who were reaper 4 doing a stronghold and they thought we were distracted but we used the strongholds kegs and cannons to reck them. They tried to come back again but got krackened and sunk again. I think they gave up after that.

As a solo sloper I will lure larger ships into active volcanoes. Once I'm out I'll attempt to board and anchor them while they're still in range of firey debris. It's not always effective but quite satisfying when mother nature does your dirty work.

Favorite thing is reaper emissary at the island to the left of reapers hideout, and rowboat over to r.h. with kegs while they go sink my empty ship. Then I set a trap with all my kegs at the hideout. Works 1 out of every 5 tries. Lol

Your videos crack me up. Basically trying to teach people things that really only come from experience. In the end you could always just say "play more and get better." with these vids, minus your first few that had some good beginner tips. Basically its just gameplay with you being like "you too could be this good with 4,000 hours."

It really feels like this was a situation of "I won because of this thing I did but also cause I suddenly had another person on my crew to attack them." I feel like the best thing that can make your PVP better is by sailing on a duo sloop instead. Yes solo is a challenge but another person being available while you make plays like this is invaluable.

Hey Phuzzy! Rider here (blvdrider), I love it when a ship chases me through a skelly fleet event and use the ships against them! Thinking three dimensionally is a good trait to have sometimes! Hope all is well my friend!

The true scariest players are those that dabble in both. If they're generally PvP with good PvE knowledge, you're screwed. Same as PvE with good PvP knowledge. They're the true pirates who know nearly every aspect of the game and are generally fairly skilled in all of them and usually supplement their weaknesses by having other crew mates strong in that area. If you don't play the game to it's most full potential, you'll never actually win against these types of players. PhuzzyBond is the PvE type with good PvP knowledge and does both. That is why it's hard to beat him.

Tbh this the first time i thought about doing this/that. I didnt know skeletal captains spawn when ur far away enough. (I only started playing SoT 2-3months so i dont know alot)

I do agree people need to learn that pvp AND pve are essential to be truly good at this game. That being said people need to realize it’s just a video game that some people play just to chill. Not everyone is some sweaty basement dweller that spends 23 hours a day looking up guides and playing till they’re able to abuse every possible advantage they can squeeze out of the game. The game is marketed as a casual one after all and with THAT being said, people still need to stop being afraid of pvp and belittling pve

It is also a bit big, so I need a bigger crew size or some NPC deckhands, now, could you make Rare aware of this? your PVE knowledge can only help you 1 time in 1000 times. It's easy to say rather than do it. Theory is way more different than operate. Watch this for fun in a new way to make content rather than think it as a tip to make you better in PVP bro. Level base skill of players in SoT is really low, it doesn't have a lot of high level players so I'm really sick of people saying they're the best, god tier or something LOL. Feel really ridiculously

Hey phuzzy, quick question man I put up a request on the Sea of thieves and I haven’t heard back from anyone yet and someone put in the thread to come to you and maybe you’d help me out 🤷🏻‍♂️ I have been playing this game for a while and I watched one of your videos on rare sails and I saw vanguard sails being super rare and I’m a “founder” and I don’t have those sails. I went into the marine corps as soon as the game was released and didn’t get a code for it unfortunately. I didn’t even actually know that vanguard sails was a thing at all until I watched your video. My gamer tag is PhilMcKracken229.
