I like the fact you can buy packs to recover fomo content from previous volumes, at least it's not like in The Crew where when you loose the chance it's gone forever. However yeah, returning on this game will not be so easy, it's since march from 2023 that I don't play it.

Honestly, I'd like the playlist to be rotate through different times of the week, such as: • Quick Play • Weekly • Daily (refreshes every 24 hours) • Hourly (every hour) Rotating through classes and types of races/events

I think the problem with the handling in this game is the curbs and other stuff that changes the height of the track, it's like some times you'll get traction on only 2 wheels diagonally and the car will either spin or not turn at all

Ngl, if we are talking about handling physics being all about skill I think we already have that in Need for Speed World all the way back. Even today in the community ran servers you can tell who is new and who is a long time player of the game based on how they take a corner if you put players in the same car. People know when and how to use brakes as more of a pivot for harder corners while lifting off so they don't lose too much speed. There is also the elevation changes in the map where people know to take as not to lose so much speed. Line taking is very deceptive

There's a lot of issues with this PVP mode. It's extremely barebones and has some glaring issues that need to be ironed out. #1 - You cannot queue for specific playlists. Currently, all you can queue for are two Audi playlist where everyone drives the same car, and an S+ race playlist. If you want to queue for lower car classes or other event types, you need to use the old Freeroam mode. The "Quick Race" option just puts you in one of the three current playlists at random. #2 - Lobbies will still run into issues with not having enough players. This is because players can't join lobbies while a race is in progress, also races take a while to start as a result. #3 - There is a shocking lack of race settings, votings and basic information. There's no lobby leader who can, for example, turn collisions off or make use of additional race settings. Players can't vote on the next event to be played. In general, the game gives no information on what the upcoming track even looks like. There's nothing you can do except wait while a lobby is idling. #4 - Exiting a lobby will not bring you back to the main PVP menu, but instead the main menu. This means you will sit through a total of three loading screens if you simply want to switch lobbies. If you're on PC without an SSD, you may sit through more than 3 minutes of downtime between races. #5 - The new rank system is completely superfluous and adds nothing to the game. There's no cosmetics, titles or other goodies to be unlocked from reaching higher ranks. It's literally just a number. I'm not sure if all of this is just the result of shoddy code on the backend and/or network side, or just really painful oversights. But the fact that this is a 15-month late addition to the game, when even NFS Underground from 2003 had a more functional PVP mode on launch, is just discouraging.

more in the simcade direction imo, the tap drift handling model works for games like hotwheels or burnout 3, need for speed should be able to drift or grip more like how tyres actually work

I don't know, I almost bit the bullet when Unbound was like 9 euros. I can find it for 12 euros now, but I'm not sure it's worth it since I paid 13 euros for EA Play Pro when it came out to play it, so it'd be like paying 25 euros for Unbound. I would pay 20 euros at most. Especially since I finished the game already, and the 12 euro version doesn't come with all the DLCs

Quick race should've hop us in any class races and not just these 3 events..Isn't it the entire point of a seprate pvp so that players can easily join races without waiting? Well that matters very little considering we're unable to pick the cars we want to race in. And im definitely not waiting for a week untill we get a different car class..

I just tried it, the Audi's don't spit you out for no reason like the original handling model, but the gameplay is still a bit shit. BUT, traditional PVP back to back matches I can find some fun in that :)... Still though, I appreciate your optimism, but I was really hoping the keys would be thrown to Code Masters and we can get something good. The closest racing game I can compare modern NFS to is Mario Kart.

Kuruhs still crying about physics... Here's guide: First car setup - use grip tyres, road suspension, disable all drift assist, traction control ON, + preferable to use high downforce. (This way car won't drift as result it's predictable, you still can drift just by using handbrake) Yellow Nitro how to use it? It reacts to both throttle and steering input. Steering is simple you turn slightly car will turn slightly, you go all the way car will turn as much as it can. With throttle is similar situation, if you don't press it at all, yellow nitro will turn car all the way, but if put pedal to the floor, it will turn only slightly. (Remember that yellow Nitro behaviour changes when you change aero, with less aero car will turn less off throttle)

I understand and respect that everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, so here’s my opinion on the 6th update. If you don’t want to read the entirety of this comment, I suggest you either watch the video without having to look at the comments or scroll and look at other comments (if you’re the type to give rubbish to others because they have an opinion that you don’t want them to have, which I think is disrespectful). After Volume 5, it did feel dead for a long period of time, but I still found ways to try and make the game fun to play. Whether it be building cars, racing, drifting, doing linkups or doing the daily/weekly challenges. When the Criterion meeting took place, I knew that it was going to be the start of a turning point for Unbound and so it was, now that the Year 2 Roadmap has already begun. Now that the plan has been laid out, it will start slowly until we begin to see more and more content being added in the 12 months ahead. Since the start of Volume 6 last Tuesday, the game is beginning to be in the path of redemption (for now) as what Kuru said. I also believe that no game can be perfect. I understand that there are some things in the game that people don’t like, but I’m not going to dive deep into those things since they’re not a talking matter in my comment here. I kind of find it shameful how ungrateful people can be but everyone has their own takes on things and that’s how society can be sometimes, unfortunately. I think more time should still be given to the developers because they’re trying to do everything they can to revive the game and maybe even the franchise in any way possible, not also forgetting the fact that it’s just a small team. And like I said regarding the start of the Y2 Roadmap, more content will begin to get added. So we just have to be patient and just try to enjoy what Unbound has to offer. If that’s not your preference, that’s fine. I’m not one to force somebody to play Unbound. If you want to play past games like Heat or so, then by all means, go for it. Sure, the developers gave up on Heat and that there are some things in previous games that make new games look like an embarassment, but it’s pretty much considered an old game. I wouldn’t imagine the developers prioritizing a 2019 game over a 2022 game. The past is already in the past. That’s also the reason why modders came into the scene. (Example being the Unite mod) But overall, the one thing I appreciate is that the developers finally began to have some sense and realize that something needs to be done in terms of Need For Speed. So that’s really all I have to say. This is *MY* opinion on all this, so please respect that. I’ll respect your opinions but don’t reply with crap that has zero sense and don’t try to big yourselves up in saying whatever it is you have to say, especially if you don’t back your statements up. You’ll simply be wasting your time and others if you do so.

In my opinion Unbound was fine, still need a lot of work, but i liked it much more than Heat. Anime-like style doesn't bother me, because i'm weeb myself, music was better than in Heat (still nothing in compare to MW 2005), drifting was better than Heat, but worse than Payback (Underground drift still is King). Story was better than Heat (literally Heat has the worst story that you can skip), but day and night system + week system was ass, Heat did much better job. Car modifications were better than in Heat, drift parts make car drift, unlike in Heat, where fully equipped car in drift parts barely did any drift and you had to fool around with drag tires or off-road suspension. I wish and hope that glorious days of Need For Speed will return at some point and we again people will enjoy this series like they did before. Really wish to see remaster of UG/UG2/MW 2005, just graphic refresh and maybe better customization, but leave rest like it was. Besides that real sequel of MW 2005.

The biggest problem I have with the pvp rn is teleporting. The game just keeps freezing my car for half a second and I'm passed by all the opponents. I can't win a single race because every time I simply get dropped down by the game to like 4th or 5th in a straight line.

The new audi handling with a full grip build feels the closest we'll get to most wanted's handling model. Definitely gonna get premium speedpass to support the much brighter future of nfs.

2:22 I think there is. Switching to manual shaves about 5-10 seconds off your laptimes in classes where you cannot afford the upgraded clutch. There also is some driving tech like microdrifts, redlining and double dipping, that rewards you for barely knowing it. I think Audis are great, but I would prefer if their handling stayed unique to them. I don't really like being in total control, especially in S+, takes the tension away. S class is alright for racing without random bullshit and it's still fast, S+ should be at the knife's edge.

Audi RS6 is premium only. I’m so done with this trash game. I even bought one of the previous car packs cuz I thought it was cool and I wanted to support the game. All the new cars they’ve added like the BMW M2 or the Maybach Benz were FREE and only had to be unlocked just by playing the game. Why do I have to buy a premium pass that’s full of garbage just to get that one car?? Absolutely disgusting considering Forza gives you 4 cars for half the price

Handling still is bad. Steer right, use boost and you're being blew away forward like there are no laws of physics. It's PS1 level of Arcade physics.

It's cool they are supporting this game but it will never make me jump back to this game since I hate the base game for what it is. And that is the cartoony art style of the game, the awful soundtracks, the return of crash cams and the worst story mode out of all Need for Speed games. Just let the game die and focus the next Need for Speed game.

This aint worth a revival Unbound is worse than heat in almost every way and even that game was only "heading in the right direction" but was far from perfect.
