It'd be nice, though I think i prefer skills for axe, especially with star effects, particularly titanic strength. Can also use titanic in lw too instead of the slow and clunky axe lw strong attack. Probably save that for big groups like the yokai clusters in demon king revealed.

Skills are better but it's always fun to destroy bosses in Way of the Demon with just regular attacks. I can two shot some bosses with just strong attacks in high stance using this set. Kato/jishi are worse. Your main atk is triangle (strong attack), kato gives less atk than enko since the skill dmg is irrelevant as the only skill odachi can use in lw that's decent is moonlit snow, and it's way too slow. Jishi can't sustain lw good. Lw needs minimum B in recovery to keep lw for most of map. Jishi's is D. CTA Str/stam is your choice, *doesn't matter when both stats are 99.* You can get cta str sure! I was stuck with stamina since I made the build before tempering got added.

I cap at 51 spirit always, not worth putting more into it after that since spirit bond bonus is only 15 each lvl after that point. After 36 you only get 20 spirit bond per level. The rest goes into Body just for more life I guess.

in full health fights fanatic sucks which WAS the main fights for wotd pre-dlc. Hyakki yagyo, restless spirits, maria, twin dragons, etc etc nearly all the boss rush modes. So in those cases, for fanatic, you'd have to spend time getting hit, to go to critical, then do nice dmg. Kaido does nice dmg no matter what, whether critical or not. That's it's advantage over fanatic, less time wasted=better build/setup. But most builds are irrelevant for wotw now, in terms of "best" or "better" setup, it'll take time to find and test and figure out what the best setup is, gear, stats, etc. and then there's ethereal versions which make divines slightly trash. So it could become the opposite where fanatic is more desired, or another set entirely. I haven't gotten that far yet due to being busy outside of nioh, but don't worry will update or make a new lw odachi later to the best it can be later :)

The stats you see are BiS, for dmg. ccd is better than sad since we have plenty of sad (strong attack dmg) already, and you might as well benefit final blows and other attacks with simple ccd instead, as sad doesn't boost those. the main combo outside of lw is mid-stance sad>sad>quick attack into high stance then twin moons. sad only effects the first two, while ccd effects all of it. 1kat just happen to have sad, doesn't effect main wpn.

ghost of sawayama is rather easy and quick to do, and the mobs aren't that difficult, only a few bigger guys but mostly small guys (this build one shots everything in that lvl with one strong attack if dmg is enough). With suzaku, amrita earned on everything and two (28% amrita earned use lw) from charms, you'll easily get 150m+ in demon every 2 min with sake. in ng+ its probably around 40m or something

Marobashi works too, depends on your weapon. Odachi's Crashing Waves and entire Living Weapon move-set makes humans a joke.

If you are confident in nuking down boss fast, I recommend the restless spirit mission on way of the strong or demon (the one which you fight Otani Yositsugu and Ishida Mitsunari back to back on mount Ibuki). You only need to finish them super fast (I can do it under 1 mins with my axe lumberchop build that one shot each of them after sloth + weakness talismans) those 2 bosses tend to buff themselves before attack you so applied sloth and weakness the moment the spawn and run behind them lumberchop (alternatively you can dual sword windstorm them). The mission is quick and gives a decent amrita and huge gold reward.

PWARGaming damn bro i scratched the surface with this build but im smoking true WOTS now omg!!

5 second intervals between spawns, so waiting 2-3 then attacking usually hits them as they're coming down. Bit tricky to time but eventually you'll get it, for most of them anyways. You could just spam quick attack then use a strong attack on the break to kill them.

With odachi star effects and wotw mobs hitting hard, it could be the case that tata is comparable and more advantageous defensively (though the same is said for fanatic with special effects), but you'd have to test yourself. All lw die under 2 minutes, they have a strict timer, so "lasting longer" is probably only having to do with "getting hit", which, your strong attack range is so long it's super uncommon if you're at all decent a player. WotD was a pushover since dmg was so high, nothing COULD hit you. Kato was 12.5% cca (doesn't effect elemental), not 20%. West can't be in the setup as you'd lose the fanatic pc, which deals more attack dmg. fanaitc being chest...how's that give more dmg at all? Gives less dmg, as you want to wear full kaido armor for max todo bonus. That 2nd paragraph is just weird, the fire dmg %, FOR the stats before dlc, was BiS for more dmg. Final blow and weakne melee were the only alts, and i already mentioned you didn't need more defense. You couldn't get dmg reduction or more ccd on the wpn pre-1.14. And from the little I played from wotw with the build, I'm hitting nearly 10k elemental alone, so fire dmg is definitely playing some part in dmg. Again though, you'd have to test tata vs kaido. ccd is generic dmg. Assuming strong attack is a separate multiplier like attack from behind, it will deal more dmg. Also, moonlit snow is slow as hell, which was trash in comparison when I can one shot with strong attacks anyways. Of course this was before dlc, so anything is up in the air now of being "best".

There is non unfortunately. Hopefully next dlc they add some more skill star effects. mad spinner is one I really want (but you can't get atm)

I have 20% ccd already so can't get those last two. And the fire damage vs fbd was a decision I thought hard about (for like a minute), and the conclusion was, it didn't matter. The fire dmg, after a point, is more relevant than FBD. I killed any human with one final blow anyways, or push comes to shove, just use a strong attack when they're on the ground for equally same dmg as a final blow would hit for. So yah, fire dmg is better imo when FBD is just overkill 99% of the times.

Aye noted. Farming hard for my 7stat Bloodstained.. Any tips? I've been doing missions that have Odachi (Divine & below) as rewards while killing Revenants for Glory to savescum Odachi but no luck thus far.. Thanks for enlightening me.

That's pretty much it exactly. At the time, there was nothing comparable except fanatic, which I already gave my opinion about having to be in critical (solved issue now since dlc due to leeching talisman, though it slows you down kill time wise). Kaido is 12% ccd + 22% strong attack = 34%. Add fanatic 2pc so 54% atk/dmg on paper. You can't just compare kaido, you gotta cmopare the full setup, and you couldn't come close to this with other setups, aside kingo, jpn bravest, and fanatic. Kingo's situational since you gotta move behind them. jpn bravest is irrelevant since I don't use skills. And fanatic needs to be in critical to even surpass it by a little. So that's why kaido was BiS at the time, and the damage was clearly enough.

eh, those stats are pretty irrelevant I'd say. But since this build or most lw builds go in critical, you'd gain more from DKU(critical) over normal DKU(*dash ki usage). Usually "critical" mods give more % boost, or work with "special effects critical" mod on charms, saoirse, or from fanatic set, in which they are boosted.

I think axe is the most versatile in terms of quantity of skills that are really good it can use, plus hits hard and breaks ki nicely. the other weapons not so much, they tend to rely on 1-2 skills only, and maybe some fancy poke/slash. every sword user will use iai. Every dual sword user will use sotc. Axe has mad spinner, lumberchomp, titanic strength, general strong strong attacks. the lw also isn't too great so its not like you'd bild around it (although you can use lumber/titanic in that mode, if you wanted to get fancy with dmg. For my builds you could follow something like Buzzsaw, maybe replace jpn bravest with ethereal sets to free up your 2nd wpn if you wanted to fool with that.

1.) Not really, the best way is to kill revenants and hope one of them drops an inheritable attack glove. This is only effective in ng+, as Demon mode randomizes all stats from revenant gear. 2.) Tokai region trail of the master is the best method. Its boring, and total rng, but it's really the best way. The method is on youtube, you get 3 chances per try, keep trying till it drops. It will just drop like any other item would drop, just has very lose % chance to drop in ng+.

PWARGaming so the magatama really is rng based drop, there's no mission to unlock it or something?... like how divine weapons only started dropping after I killed Orochi...

rng as soon as you enter ng+. Demon drops it more often. There is a mission that awards it, but it's in the last region and arguably one of the hardest missions Pre-dlc, "Return of the gourd." I suppose if you're doing fine with killing you can go and slug your way through it all until you unlock it, but it's a long ways off from your point.

PWARGaming I finally got my Yasakani Magatama bro, thanks for all the tips, it took me 100 runs yesterday and an additional 3 runs today before it finally decided to show up, BTW what happens when you equip 2 Yasakani Magatama on you?, does the effect stack or something?...

fire damage on cannon you mean? If so yes, counts towards fire damage on weapon or from lw, which is what I do (which is why elemental damage sucks on a weapon since lw will replace your elemental, and it doesn't stack with the same element either.). Fire damage (weapon)% is what you want for more boost like i have, NOT Fire +19 or whatever. the latter sucks.

Don't have anything atm for critical lw so it'd be quite awhile till I can get one out. I'd say it's well enough for now, you'd want to keep majority of the things anyways besides armor so I wouldn't stress too much on upgrading armor is all.

too low a chance I'd say. If you can beat ganryu easily (use 2-3 paralytic groundfire in one spot to freeze him fast) in ng+ or wotd, the mission rewards odachi's and is super quick, you'll eventually get a divine cleaver. For ethereal?....good luck....

for amrita farming only. the main ones for dmg (or progressing if you're making the build and don't have enough dmg) is Enko Main, Tanuki 2nd. You'll out damage every other spirit combo.

I post armor/gear info in the description for every build. But kaido is from the axe master in dojo, either kill him there for his text, or do marobashi. kill axe guy, then suicide after picking up loot to start over without having mission complete and more loading screens.

yah str, if you got gear ready you'll blow past pretty much everything, and luckily no nerfs so still works just like it does now, if not better :) Though the embrycite crystals sorta discount the attractiveness of farming with this. WotW gives 100million stones, so 300mill each easy run of three lost souls lol

I definitely don't have gear ready yet. I'm working towards it though. I actually just stumbled on that farming method myself, but on WoTS it's only 3m or so a run. Still very solid though

well "gear" isn't really more common, the new temper mechanic makes "building" easier, but you a still gotta actually get the gear to reforge first. Luckily the build uses mainly 1 set, and the only hard to to find is the odachi. You don't "need" to use it, but you'll lose 15% dmg if you don't. description has where to get everything.

cleaver has 15% dmg boost against enemies at full life, it will out-damage every other wpn on first hit by quite a bit, and contributes towards "one shots" so that's why. Not mandatory, but it's BiS.

PWARGaming ah okay :) Im lv300 now and im running a warrior of the west+takenashi (?) build and got a 7stat odachi with CTA Stamina AA eith stamina and stength at 99 But i only do 3-6k dmg per hit with CCD, FBlowDmg, CC KiRed. And CC KiDmg What am i missing? :/ Should i switch to this/a LW Build?

odachi is pretty meh outside of lw, decent enough, but skills are rather slow and with no star effects aren't too powerful aside moonlit snow (which again, SLOW). tata set is defensive, bad offense, so dmg would never be too high. You can keep the 7 stats odachi, if armor isn't a big deal to change and you have the charms for it, I would probably switch. Ditch ccki for familiarity dmg bonus for more dmg.

It does, but your chances of finding another one are wayyyyyy too low, so unless you're an absolute madman to grind for perfectionism in a game where team ninja finds a way to make your stuff irrelevant each dlc, I'd stick the the 6 stat you have. Make it +29 in case you get a 7 stat one, that way you can make THAT one 29, combine both, and have the better one be lvl 30.

The problem comes with "grace of's" taking a spot on weapon. So, a 7 stat ethereal cleaver is really more like a 6 stat divine cleaver, which means you only have 5 stats to work with since CQC perma stat takes up the 6th stat. In the case of the video, you'd get rid of the fire damage (wapon), you want everything else, and pierce guard varies unless you want to replace it with one of the new ethereal stats. Kojoiro's odachi comes with ccd perm stat, meaning if a grace pops up, you get an additional stat to work with, so there's actual debate one which odachi is better, depending on your setup. Since you're lw and can't use dash atk x2, cleaver's still better. But non-lw guys will want kojiro's odachi instead.

depends what set(s) you are using. Kaido's giving this build bout 35% dmg (with fanatic it becomes 55%). The only other set that would be comparable is Full fanatic. Will deal a bit more in critical with that (but much less at full health). Kingo is sort of fine too but obviously have to attack the rear.

PWARGaming I'm using Tatenashi set and an usami nagamitsu +20 and getting close to those numbers. I'm so used to having survivability if I mess up lol. It seems to be impossible to find attack + gloves so the motive to get my kaido set right now is meh :(. I'm not having a problem using this build with those items tho. Just takes maybe 2 or 3 more hits depending on who I'm tryna kill.

cca(c) is worse than ccd. Lots of missions are done at full life, cca(c) would mean you wouldn't benefit from it at all, which is 20% less dmg. Also "special effects" on charms is usually worse than yokai ccd or lw attack enhancement, even on full fanatic builds. cta str is fine, but there's no difference in dmg between cta's if the stats are 99, both of which are for this build :p

use kato and use living weapon, should make quicker work of him (don't get hit). bring some spirit stones to reactivate LW if it runs out before second phase.

Salami, it gets pretty ridiculous numbers on anything not electrified, and is only about 10% weaker than raijin when enemy is electrified, which is usually only bosses since element doesn't apply instantly with normal swings. You also can carry weakness talisman with this build, potentially surpassing raijin even when enemy is electrified.

sorta, its more damage, and in wotw from what little i played in it with this build, i hit for near 9k fire damage some times, so if you if you consider without that 50% that'd be a loss of around half that damage, I'd say its worth it over final blow or something.

It's decent, not the best use of odachi outside of lw. You're main combo would be mid-stance SA (strong attack) > SA > QA (quick) > the skill change thing that puts you into high stance > then twin moons. Or just spam high stance strong attack. Soulstones is easiest from maria, she gives 3 soul+1 large, even in ng+, so just use 1 soul and you'll make profit of 2+1 large soulstone every 20 sec.

not that i know of, trail of the master is still best. Magatama's are the only thing worth hunting for outside of fans for luck/equipment builds, so I only pick up magatama's or yasakani's.

mid attack works. if you can get 20%+ on it I'm sure the difference to a 20% strong attack is minimal, and I'd say its better than strong attack anyways since your quick attacks can benefit as well against humans or small trash mobs. Scorched thing is ehhh, not really. It'll take 1-2 strong attacks to burn something (like the spear guy in the marobashi clip who died from burn after the single strong attack), but it only effects hits AFTER they're burned, which isn't the case in 90% of the scenarios shown (since they die in one hit). So i prefer fire dmg 50%, which sometimes results in 1-3k extra dmg from the get go. But yah, thanks for watching :)

strong attack. Just press triangle. moonlit snow is way to slow to be efficient imo. for weak minions like small skeletors or ghouls, just use a quick attack, should ohko them if dmg is high enough. Then for everything else, just use SA to ohko them. Humans that guard just spam quick attack to break guard, then follow up with strong attack once their guard is broken.

You can definitely get by and damage is nice, but it's more of a "why settle for less?" kinda thing. Kusa was also decently viable outside of lw, blade spin still killed fast enough, and I think the high/low stance quick attack was nifty. But lw kusa is just better in almost every regard to non-lw, similar for odachi. Downside is you don't get to use its sick moveset much xD

PWARGaming oh i 100% agree that damage is better in lw, I guess there is just so little in the game with enough health for it to matter, that lw is almost exclusively an oh shit button for me outside of farming. I love odachi moveset, i have a vid up of hyakki yagyo burned about as quick as my kusa build with it. Kinda like my armor, I know there are better builds than kingo and tata, but that set will work with any weapon I want to play around with, and do damn good damage to boot as long as I play it right. need that lumber chop one shot build in my life though lok.

yah anything with kingo/jpn bravest/fanatic will pretty much make any wpn/playstyle good. I like this since I use a different set for once xD And lumberchop is tasty, but I prefer titanic strength star effect, it's immediate damage and can kill stuff in 1-2 hits that lumber chop would have anyways in the same time frame, except TS can be used quickly for normal mobs too whereas LC can't, or is slower anyways. I never cared too much about one shot appeal, for me speed is king, GOTTA GO FAST!!! *sonic derp face*

PWARGaming lol, I love the idea of going back and one shotting the bastards that gave me trouble in NG, did a one shot challenge in DS1 that was good fun. TS sounds neat, I need to play axe more in general. I love the idea of these set specific builds, where good preperation and setup leads to high payoff. i just get so bored farming the star effects on forging, even worse than when I save scum for weapon effects . that's the real final boss of this game lol

hm? There really isn't any, just press triangle in lw and become exodia and obliterate :) any other attacks are just quick attack spam (for breaking guard), so square, square, square etc (or whatever you have quick attack set to on your controller.)

attack? need inheritable symbol ([]>[]) next to attack on gloves, max the gloves familiarity, then you can put it on other pieces of armor. Same for any stats. Make sure the gloves aren't equipped though otherwise you can use them as material. divines usually are common to have that symbol, purples are rare though. divines appear when you unlock ng+.

cleaver is BiS, will outdamage all others since it comes with close quarters combat 15%. But you can still use usami. you'll have to change the armor however, kaido or full fanatic are best. kaido better overall imo in situations where not in critical state, which is quite often for boss rushes like restless spirits or maria, etc.

what lvl is your gear? Think it has to do with that, 200 gear you'll get 40, think the max is 42 at lv210 gear. In way of the wise the max is like 48 or something on 251+ gear, for normal attack on armor.

floor 36 in abyss makes your defiled items mostly older sets like susano and ama. just go into abyss floor 33, defile all the items (ex cannons is good to defile en masse), then beat all the bosses up to floor 36, then leave after beating it and hope your stuff turns into susano.

LW is Living Weapon, so a non LW build is any build that doesn't rely on the use of Living Weapon to be max effectiveness

For boss runs like Marobashi or Hyakki Yagyo for example, you want to use soulstones as they will fill your gauge and allow you to enter LW at the start. His latest video featuring tips to prepare for the next DLC shows how he farms those very quickly. For anything other than boss runs you pretty much play as you normally would, gain amrita, and eventually have a full gauge. From there enter critical health and go nuts

I personally prefer Usami Nagamitsu, though I also take Fanatic more for the defensive ability (because I'm a Luck whore). I'm not one-shotting every boss in a single Strong attack. Maybe two. ;p But I'm glad Blood-Stained Cleaver's Tachi Arts-like effect doesn't conflict with CCD, that does make it a viable option for a build like this where your goal is to one-shot enemies. Otherwise it's six of one half a dozen of the other. I've grown to love Odachi's non-LW mode, too. However, I think it has a lot to do with how one sets up his transition skills. It makes a good weapon for Tengen or Kara-Jishi in Japan's Bravest. You know how broken Crashing Waves is against humans, and for Yokai there's Low Sunset Breeze: Heaven into Twin Moons or Moonlit Snow. Both of which are stronger since the patch to Odachi skills (forgot the number but it was the Blade Spin Nerf).

For yasakani? assuming your in ng+? then yah, its still pretty rare there. Much more common in wotd though. Just keep doing the trail of the master method. I would use up all your amrita to lvl up (or put it into a silbar ingot), then use the perma himirogi thing that gets rid of your amrita. No point in wasting branches.
