Cats are so strange. My oldest girl, who is 9, has turned her nose up at catnip until a few months ago. I changed the catnip I purchase and now she loves It. She’s always loved small stuffed toys that she can toss into the air.

How clever! It really is easy. Looks like something fun on a cloudy, rainy day. Yesterday, I finished 19 masks. I have another 20 cut but don't feel inclined to make all those today. I need to cut out an extra large for my son-in-law. He decided he wants a special one. I have some Star Wars ships fabric I have been saving for men in the family. Special perks of knowing the sewist! Thanks for another great video.

I like that there’s so many places for people to buy masks now. I went to three stores today and they all had paper masks to buy. For me that means I only need to make for my kids which saves me lots of time. I like being able to make special masks for friends and family.

I made one of these in the past, as a chicken pin cushion. I was thinking you could make a few to use in a kids game. Maybe have some boxes grouped together with a number/picture on them and the kids try to toss them into the boxes to score points. I'm sure people can come up with lots of better ideas than mine for child's play :)

Hello, loved them!! Took me longer to stuff them than to make them !!! LOL I stuffed the ones I will as pattern weights with fish tank gravel and about a third of the space close to the opening with all the strips left over from squaring my blocks etc .. that way the base is "soft" and no risk of scratchcing my rulers . Thanks for sharing !

Yes! Stuffing takes a bit of time especially on these small projects. Excellent idea about making the bottom soft to protect your rulers.

Cute! If there was rice inside you could heat it and put it on your forehead or ear, or wherever it hurt. Could you use them for a hackysack? Not sure how to spell that one. It was a game my kids played, trying to perfect their coordination. Needless to say, it never worked well for me. (Lol)
@rsislandcrafts
@rsislandcrafts 3 жыл бұрын
Hackney sacks tend to be round. They’re made similar to baseballs with two identical pieces that remind me of weird peanuts or sanitary pads. 🤷‍♀️. They have a certain weight to them but i don’t remember what i used way back when i made them. But if you make them they will play I’ve learned. Kids can come up with crazy games if that’s all they have to play with.

I definitely like the idea of making small ones as Christmas ornaments that can be embellished with beads or sequins. Also, I'm wondering if I could leave a larger opening for turning and use stick-on Velcro to close it. This way they could be filled with candy, trinkets, gift cards, etc. and then be reused. This would require using some type of interfacing to strengthen the fabric. Your projects always get my mind working on finding more uses for the item you've made!
@rsislandcrafts
@rsislandcrafts 3 жыл бұрын
Those are some great ideas. Maybe make two and put them together like a lining. Then use ribbon to tie It closed. That way they can go in a bowl or hang from the ribbon. I love seeing everyone’s creativity.

Leaving that with stitching exposed on the cat toys is extremely dangerous. Thread can be caught and popped and then pulled out and swallowed. It gets wrapped around their intestines and they need surgery

Welcome back! I’ve learned it’s neat to start with the newest video and go from there. Then I watch the videos I’ve missed here and there. That way I’m current and I don’t miss any happy news. @@rsislandcrafts Abby loves bean bags and loves to pick the fabric for them. I buy poly pellets in bulk from Amazon bc bean bags make such good gifts for kids. ( with the poly pellets they are machine washable also, just have to air dry). If I have time I try to crochet a basket to keep them in and use as a target. But I have always done the traditional square ones. Triangles will be so fun!! Yes!! MSQC!!! I know I watched one last one year! I just couldnt remember who did it.. thank you!!! Yes, it is good to stay current and catch up as you can. I have a Homesteading channel I watch that they are remodeling their home. This is the 3rd one theyve done since starting their channel. So I watch the current video each week and also went back to the beginning and try to watch one or two each week until I catch up to where I'm at. Work has just been crazy, and we are trying to get our finished so we can try to sell and move before winter. My husband doesnt want to do another winter on the mountain.

@@rsislandcrafts it really is! So many decisions to make, and just the all packing and making sure the fragile stuff doesnt end up on the bottom of a heavy stack..... well you know!!! We bought it as a fixer and want to sell it turn key. It is nice to see it all come together. We are also doing a whole house declutter so the actual packing and moving hopefully won't be as bad.
@rsislandcrafts
@rsislandcrafts 3 жыл бұрын
Did you take before and after pictures? I know. It everyone cares but if I bought your house I would love to frame a set of before and after pics. Did you hide anything in the walls? I’ve always loved that idea. Or when you tear down the drywall and you see the writing inside the walls. I’m a sucker for that type of history. Decluttering before a move is a very good idea. No sense moving trash and unwanted things.
