A common task for scientists and engineers is to analyze data from an external source that may be in a text or comma separated value (CSV) format. By importing the data into Python, data analysis such as statistics, trending, or calculations can be made to synthesize the information into relevant and actionable information. Tutorials below demonstrate how to import data (including online data), perform a basic analysis, trend the results, and export the results to another text file. An example is provided with Pandas. Sir, how to make reconciliation data for optimize operation a plant with mass balance/MHB using python or excel maybe? i got data parameters from DCS, I hope you share about this conceptual. Thanks

Here's an example of adjusting parameters in a balanced equation equation to reconcile to measurements. apmonitor.com/do/index.php/Main/TCLabE the animation at the bottom shows how we align the two.

Thank you for the great video! :) I have just a little question: is it ok to use a pandas data frame with matplotlib? On the official website they recommend to use a numpy.array file instead. (I couldn't generate a numpy.array with the header information from my txt-file, that's why I ask) Thank you so much!

Yes, it is okay to use Pandas with matplotlib. Try df.plot() that is a built-in function of a dataframe.

Great tutorial, but in the first plot, I have a problem with a legend. Even though written exactly like on the screen or even copied from your notebook, it says: No handles with labels found to put in legend.

Try adding label='x' as one of the plot options.

@@apm It worked, I've done this: plt.plot(appl['Date'], appl['Open'], 'k-', linewidth = 3, label = 'Open')
