I've used both this method and the excel method posted on this channel with the Soave EOS and get decent results for vapour specific volume, its fairly accurate compared to published results but the liquid volume is always incorrect and has very similar values for every pressure/temp combination. Any ideas?

You may be getting a false root, in between the vapor and liquid root. Maybe try it with Gekko and constraints to bound the search. Otherwise try a better initial guess.

great explanation Brother can you solve this problem please I have tried a lot . A hollow cylindrical drum 750 mm in diameter and 2.5 m long has a shell thickness of 10 mm. If the drum is subjected to an internal pressure of 2.6N/mm²,Determine (i) Change in diameter (ii)Change in length and (iii) Change in volume. Take E = 2.1x10^5N/mm² and Poisson's ratio = 0.3.
