How, when and where did you meet your partner? And there are a lot of cool and cotton clothes in the market you don't have to wear traditional/Indian dress..in Mumbai even Indian women wear Western clothes.

It was so nice of you to update on so many things (some of them personal). It further reinforces my belief that You are a remarkable person. I strongly wish that India gains from your presence. You can do so much here given you have excellent skills… attorney, swimming expertise, cross-cultural life, etc. I totally agree with you on safety concept as you explained… I lived in US for 12 years and never felt safer… just that emergency services were quick to arrive … which may not be the case in India. Wish you very best of stay here in Mumbai.

Marnie - Please do cover this - When and Where did you meet your Indian Partner and whats your couple story ??? On the Humidity thing - You have been to Mumbai at its worst seasons. Trust, its not this bad rest of the year. Bear with our Mumbai weather till say 15th June and experience the bliss of the Mumbai Monsoons July onwards. 2nd half of June is still a bit warm even if it rains here. PS - I live in Mumbai too. Born and bought up in Mumbai. Was in the US for a couple of years and have had a lot of trips to the US, since our work headquarters are in the US.

Hi Marni, I’ve been watching all your videos and I love them all. I’m from India but, I live in states for past 30 years. I visit India every other year. My dream is to live there at least for few years. Only problem scares me is the humidity in summer. Especially in south part of India where my family is living. Your videos are giving me encouragement. 😊 Good luck and keep making more videos. 👍

Advice: let your body acclimatize by going out into the humid weather all day long. Do something like a sport or go to a walker's park. Try to use less AC. You have to allow your body to adjust.

I have just watched your first vlog,I liked it.Yes average height of Indian women is around 5ft , but with rising standard of living and proper food habits, average heights of Indian women will improve in coming years. Today I see many young Indian girls with height in excess of 5ft 5 inches. As far as safety is concerned you're living in the safest city of India.

Hey Marnie How did you manage to move to India? Reason I ask is I understand in order to permanently move an OCI card is required? Could you do a video about how a UK Indian woman can move to India who wasn’t born in India but had grandparents who were born in India but moved to East Africa when India was under British Rule. Thank you 🙏🏼 ❤ Ps love your videos
@MarniLizbeth
@MarniLizbeth Ай бұрын
Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the immigration laws for individuals from the UK. I started coming to India on a five-year tourist visa. I think it's probably easiest to move permanently on a work visa, but I really have no idea. I think you'd be best to speak to an immigration attorney/solicitor in the UK about this. Best of luck to you and thank you for watching!

I'd guessed you might be 5'10". haha You might also stand out in India because you're a swimmer and have the prototypical broad/wide shoulders that swimmers tend to have; this may also make it harder for you to be able to buy ready-made Indian outfits that fit you well, but lots of people there still get their clothes tailored and you may be able to get a perfectly fitting Indian kurtis tailored for yourself at a very reasonable cost and time. Ask some Indian auntie neighbors for a good tailor shop in your neighborhood...they'll point you in a good direction most likely. You might enjoy kurtis-- up to knee length tunic shirts which you can probably pair up with leggings or loose jeans or any other bottoms. And kurtis can be simple cotton for everyday wear, all the way up to more glitzy looks. I also work in the government sector, and therefore wouldn't be able to work if I decide to spend a year back in India, unless I apply for and get one of the Embassy Fellows details; my wife is white and has never been to India, but we were thinking about how to make it happen-- she's a teacher and therefore has a very rigid schedule, unfortunately. But she has an ability to get a one year sabbatical, so that might be our chance. Let's see...

You should join any basic beginners cooking class and inform ahead to your teacher there that you hate cooking so that they'll first teach you kiddie things to ease you in and to start you liking .

@@MarniLizbeth hi, plan a trip to shimla , kullu , manali , darjeeling , ladakh , gulmarg side as these are famous hill stations on the foothills of himalayas infact gulmarg still has snow (Note: gulmarg city could be way too high if you haven't been on such height ever before , some small village locations in India are even higher than everest base camp so other places mentioned above better suited for you, although further north you'll go probably people's height will also increase you'll feel less giant 😁🤗 hehehe) Enjoy weekend or fortnight travels while in India escape the heat belt region head towards the hills as high as you can .

You are an Eggetarian ... Hi, in India there are multiple kinds of vegetarians 3 of them are : 1. Eggetarian - vegetarian but eats egg 2. Tarrytarian - vegetarian but eats egg & liquid curry (called Taary) parts only of the meat dishes 3. Vegetarian - who only eats plants (lol plants are considered living biengs aren't they! 👍😂 hehehe) *. Vegans (especially the US version as this twistedness came from there) - those are the people who even skip dairy they disregard any dish having milk or butter or cheese etc. ingredient. Basically vegans need therapy . Vegetarians are fine ok .

Madam, my unsolicited advise is that is best to go back to UsA and chill , while maintaining a long distance relationship with your boyfriend . India and South Asia , including Sri Lanka and the Maldives are all developing nations with per capita around 4000 dollars …our neighbours SE Asia is a better choice , but they are marginally better with per capita of 7-8K USD . Thailand is ridden with narcotics, STDs and HIV…Japan is too expensive and let’s not get stated about Communist China and Hong Kong, which is now a police state .

One imp suggestion, Marnie - just buy yourself a small AC car and a driver to drive it and take you around. Trust, its a must in Mumbai especially for foriegners. Your life will change for the better. Drivers can be hired for about Rs 15 K a month and a small car can be bought on a car loan on an affordable EMI or thru an outright payment of Rs 6 lakhs or so. For extra safety the drivers Aadhar Card and Pan card are submitted at the local police station along with his photographs. This is not a must as hiring a driver here is very common and they are trustable ... buy just for your extra comfort. I am born and bought up in Mumbai. And have lived in the US for a few years and made several trips to the US and back as our office headquarters are in the US. So I know how an American can lead a very comfortable and happy life in India. You gotta trust me on it. -- Amal
