Your video made me tear up bc it feels so personal right now. I was in Mumbai for two weeks and I just felt at home there with all the craziness and being only American crazy enough to travel to India in May. I have been thinking about moving there for awhile. It is in my heart and now in my bones. And yes there is a Mumbai man. But I have to do some serious thinking and see if this what I really want. Your videos have made me feel like it could be realistic. So thanks so much for sharing your journey. And glad you can relax now in Mumbai.
@MarniLizbeth4 күн бұрын
Thank you so much for watching and for sharing. It was a huge decision for me to move here, but I knew I'd always regret not moving - even if things went badly. I did everything I could to make it less risky (like keeping my job and taking a leave of absence, instead of quitting), but yeah, it's still a major life change.

New subscriber here. Originally from Mumbai/ Blore and now settled in Los Angeles. So glad you are taking care of yourself . India is not easy at first but with little patience it gets you. I have no family in India but something makes me go to India every year . I look at with great anticipation to go to India but returning is another thing. The constant violence, homelessness, political divisions here in LA and across the country makes life miserable. I would love to go back to India to just appreciate small things in life and be one self. Not sure when I can do it but till then will keep watching your videos. Good luck on everything you do.

Thanks so much for watching and for commenting. I lived in LA for about 5 years and Portland is very similar to LA in the things you describe now. India has been incredible to me and you're right, it makes you appreciate the small things and it has really helped me slow down. Best of luck to you and I hope you continue to visit India when you can.

My brother had to relocate to Mumbai for job and it's been 6 months and he's still not fully settled in, I can imagine how difficult it must have been for u. Also Mumbai is extremely fast paced city. Everyone is in a hurry. Also very less parks and quiet area to just be in peace.

Leaving one's comfort zone, be it work or home, especially a place where you were born, brought up and raised is pretty tough, that's for sure. But, coming to a whole new world, and adjusting to the native lifestyle and blending with the local vibes, is what I call true bravery and the intense craving to take up new challenges in life. This is what I call opening up of new vistas in lyf and for people who see lyf in a positive way. And, you are doing a great job of getting into the groove, if not quick, but in a steady way.

Just when you showed the balcony, I thought it would be a nice place to watch rains during monsoons. And boom..there was rain! 😅You must visit western ghats south of mumbai, into Karnataka and Kerala to get the feel of tropical rain forests which are evergreen. Also, places like Coorg, Ooty, Munnar etc. if you really want a break from extreme heat.

@@MarniLizbeth Totally about those dang Mumbai men and the Mumbai heat. I felt like I was going to melt away like a snowcone in July. And I meant to comment on walking in Mumbai.
