Gotta be honest, I clicked in about 2 weeks ago because I saw a pretty girl, and now I've watched all your videos, and as a "cradle Catholic" it's really opened my eyes to (1) problems in my life and (2) how they relate back to not living a Catholic life. I never "left" the church, but I was lapsed. Feel like I'm at the beginning of a journey. Anyway, great vid as usual, God bless!

Yeah, it's crazy how different things got since I started praying for a spouse. I was always kind of a failure at dating apps, but then I started praying and that got me cleaning up my profile and questioning the intentions behind photos and things I wrote. Once I got it right and in line with Catholic values and made it clear I wasn't looking to hook up or anything short term, and I started showing myself with family and improving myself, I got at least one match every time I went on the app. Now, dating apps are still not exactly a great place for faithful Catholics. Many people still believe that sex on the first date is ok as long as it materializes in a relationship, and "long term" is anything more than a month. So I quit the apps. But I started following Jason Evert's advice and imagining who would be the idea man for my ideal wife, and trying to be that man the best I can. It's actually kind of simple. And as Jesus said, always be persistent in prayer! Never give up, but make sure you're not only asking but listening. I always try to say as Jesus did, "please provide for me x, dear Lord, but not according to my will, but yours."

Thanks for sharing these tips. And even though there were a few sensitve questions answered, the answers were still helpful. I relate with some of these struggles, I think many do as seen from the questions, so I'm glad that you still gave advice for not just the women but also the men too. Men need again to learn how to treat women with dignity and respect.

I recently found your channel and wanted to thank you for what you're doing. I was raised in an atheist household and for many years never put any thought into religion or any of these concepts about sin or impurity. I spent much of my life being generally unhappy and sinning in every way possible. I used to look down on faith as if I was somehow superior for "understanding the truth" etc. It wasnt until the last few years that I have really opened my eyes to Christianity and started rethinking everything I had believed and been lead to believe by secular society to that point. This followed a general change in myself from being extremely left leaning politically in my teens and early 20s to being conservative and traditional in my late 20s. I have no connections with Catholicism as in no history or family ever being in the church but I feel naturally drawn to it. I have been learning about the history and have been seriously considering joining. I would love to know what your thoughts are on people like me joining? Also do you have any tips on how I can go about it? Is there a good resource I can use to learn more about how to join and what I should be doing to prepare? I have spent 30 years now without faith and a sudden spiritual awakening makes me feel like my soul is starving 😃 all I want to do is get more involved and start a new tradition within my family! With the help of the Lord I pray I can reach my family and save their souls as well!

Try to find a good Catholic parish where they teach the whole truth of the Faith and celebrate Mass with reverence and tradition. Start going to Mass/events there and talking to people, especially the priest. If it's a good parish the priest and people will be welcoming, especially if you go there consistently. Get book recommendations. Watch a good KZfaq channel like this one. Some other great ones are "Meaning of Catholic" and "Brian Holdsworth." Another good resource are Catholic speakers with recorded talks like Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers, Steve Ray, and Jesse Romero. I wish you all the best. God bless.

Through my own experiences combatting addiction to sex, masturbation, and pornography in my own past, a few more things that have REALLY helped me that I wanted to add to help viewers: 1. REJECT the world's mentality saying "Other animals do it, so it is normal and healthy" by recognizing that just because it occurs in nature does not make it healthy (other animals kill each other, rape each other, eat their offspring, etc). This particular mentality really served as a stumbling block early on in my recovery. 2. Instead of focusing on whether doing it makes you a bad person or not, focus on consequences. At first, I approached it from a "if I do it, it makes me a bad person" standpoint, which caused me to fall back into it shortly after each relapse. I personally started finding more success once I approached it from a "If I do this, I know it will blow up in my face afterward. If I do this, I know that I will feel groggy and won't be able to think clearly afterward." 3. To go along with #2, educate yourself on the effects of the behavior. Once I started learning about the neuroscience of sex, masturbation, and pornography, and how they impact our brain and other natural human functions, I started having a stronger desire to avoid them (I don't want to avoid sex anymore, I just want to wait until the proper context). 4. Change up who you spend time with. Back in the thick of my own addiction, the people I hung out with were very sexually liberal and active. The way they talked about sex, porn, and masturbation was as though they were simply a hobby. They made it a part of their personality as well. Once I stopped hanging out with these types of people and started spending time with people who actually value chastity, it started feeling socially NORMAL to not act out sexually.

Personally i wear only skirts and dresses for modesty and concealing the shape. Pants will usually show the under curve of your butt and cling to your legs, and a skirt that also shows the under curve of your butt is also not the most modest, so i do not wear those. It was really put on my heart to do this a few years ago and i love it!

I only wear dresses not because of the Mary thing but just because that's what I like, and I like being feminine and I feel pants make me feel like a man tbh and I just love dresses, I don't ever wear dresses above the knee either, I actually haven't worn a pants for about 11 years I think, I just believe women should wear dresses and be feminine, that's not to say there is anything wrong with pants, my sister only really wears pants and she always looks lovely and she is feminine too but I just feel the fact that women wear pants more than dresses today is a problem in my opinion, not them wearing the pants lol but that it's just another example of women becoming like men as it wasn't until the 1960s feminism that women started to wear pants more than skirts and now everyone wears pants, and the reason women started wearing pants was to reject femininity standards, and it's around the time women starting "wearing the pants" in society too if you know what I mean. I actually rarely see a girl in a dress in my city. It's been totally normalized to wear pants so obviously women think nothing about wearing it which I totally understand but it's just a shame for femininity in my opinion, dresses were made for the female body and to enhance it and compliment it, women will always look better in a flowing dress in my opinion than pants. The only thing though Christians always say that dressing conservatively and modest is about dressing feminine and simple and even though i dress very conservatively and very feminine, and never show low cleavage or wear skirts above the knee etc. but I don't dress simple, I dress very "out there" and wear vintage dresses that would be considered ball gowns by todays standards on a daily basis and I just feel like people think that takes away from me dressing conservative and I don't understand this personally because I'm dressing like how women did in times where women dressed classy and conservative, I just have always loved how women used to dress in the past decades and centuries and I reject modern female fashion. It's not really a big deal or anything but I just sometimes think of this, that because I wear glamourous clothing that it's not considered modest, I just thought I would mention my thoughts on this since you brought it up and if you have any thoughts on any of this would love to hear.

8:00 Well explained👍, I was talking with my fellow Catholic friends on which sin is the deadliest, and in general we got to these key points Temptation: Invitation of sin to be spread into the world, by trying to misplace your heart with fleeting satisfaction, that which only God can fill. Understanding that the Capital Sins give cause or give rise to other sins, then the virtues that oppose it will give rise to closeness w/ Christ. Building…. Humility instead of Pride Liberality instead of Covetousness Chastity instead of Lust Meekness instead of Anger Temperance instead of Gluttony Brotherly Love instead of Envy and Diligence instead of Sloth Resolve: Know when to do when these thoughts occur, many say, “In the name of Jesus Christ, I reject the lie that (what you are tempted with)” and frequently pray, fast and go to confession. 🇻🇦

That's interesting, this is the first of this channel's videos I've actually seen any "Likes" on. Amber, if you can go through the metrics for your videos, that might help expose some of KZfaq's shenanigans. We've seen from "the Twitter files" how social media puts its thumb on the scale to push The Narrative(TM), and it would be great to get some evidence showing how that works on KZfaq.

Honestly this advice should be listened by all, one doesn't have to be a Christian/Catholic to respect themselves, their bodies and to not abuse the gift of creating life by sleeping around etc, I think no matter what anyone's faith, the world was a better place when everyone had standards set in my opinion, a society without standards falls apart as we are seeing today, the standards for how we threat ourselves and others has degenerated, our culture and humanity has degenerated, I feel like the 1960s make us regress rather than progress. The thing is boys will be boys just like girls will be girls, there is nothing wrong with this, society has made it wrong. As for our bodies, yes they are natural but I fail to see how that is an excuse for stripping naked which is what people today use, going to the toilet is natural too but we're not just going to do that in front of everyone, so it just is a bad excuse, it's like sex, they same people say we shouldn't shame people for having casual sex because it's natural which is funny because these people usually support abortion and the reason sex is natural is to create life so it feels very hypocritical to be saying one without the other, nothing is more natural than a baby in the womb but they don't care about that, but obviously sex is natural but like everything in life it is meant to be moderated and have conditions.

Did you hear about 'Good News about Sex and Marriage' by Christopher West? There are nice honest questions and good catholic answers. For example this juicy question: My boyfriend and I are very much in love and very attracted to each other. We haven't gone 'all the way', but we find it hard to know where the line is. Is there a line? Answers are in the cited book above. It is really fun to read.
@gray_mara
@gray_mara Жыл бұрын
The best answer I have heard relates it back to fidelity. To know what is acceptable before marriage, ask yourself how happy you would be if your spouse did those things with someone else after you are married. If you would be unhappy about that after marriage, then you don't have the right to share it before marriage. There is no extended licence for engagements.
@tensorfeld295
@tensorfeld295 Жыл бұрын
@@gray_mara I think it is not that simple. It is possible to express your affection to someone you are dating, you are engaged with. An excerpt from the book: 'Perhaps you remember you parish priest, your CCD teacher, or mom drawing a line along the scale of physical behaviours and saying, "If you cross this, you've sinned." I'm not trying to discount the need for such physical "lines", but they often fail to do justice to the complexity of human hearts. ...Physical manifestations of affection ... are meant to be outward signs that express genuine inward realities ... ' Intimacy, holding hands and kissing is possible.
@tensorfeld295
@tensorfeld295 Жыл бұрын
@@gray_mara But premarital sex is definitely crossing the line. No doubt.
@gray_mara
@gray_mara Жыл бұрын
@@tensorfeld295 While there is affection and desire, during an engagement there is no sacramental sanction on intimacy that properly belongs in marriage. We know it belongs in marriage because we would be angry if a husband shared this intimacy with someone other than his wife. In years gone by, this was seen as obvious, but today we are blinded by a culture that sees sin as positive. We always have a tendency to ask, "How far can I go without it being a mortal sin?" Instead, the question we should be asking is, "How can I be as chaste and holy as possible?" How can we best protect the chastity of the one we love? Are we helping our partner avoid occasions of sin or tempting them? Saints have always taught that deliberate arousal outside of marriage is a failure of chastity that is not loving to one's partner. This is not what you are likely to hear today, but have the standards of God changed with the sexual revolution?
@tensorfeld295
@tensorfeld295 Жыл бұрын
@@gray_mara (My English is not the best, so I hope there will be no confusion) I can recommend what the saint pope John Paul II wrote in his Theology of the Body. You can express your affection and be chaste. There is no need for suppression of sexuality. Chastity means that you can integrate your sexuality to your person (does not mean perfect suppression). Kissing, holding hands, hugging is all possible for dating and engaged couples.
