"But muh modern finish" yeah, that's great until you drench the thing in actual buckets of sweat. Modern finishes are way better than things like bluing or parkerizing at keeping rust off, but you're still going to see problems if you're too lax.

The question about getting into law enforcement I have somthing to ad . I have been with the Met police in London for 14 years I have been in riots and man hunts I have attended the scenes after terror attacks and gang stabbings I have been shot at with nothing but a tazer and CS spray as a defence and after all that I have done my very best to respect everyone and treat people as people and I still get hate and abuse just like every other officer in England so just like America no matter how much hate and anger you get from members of the public its your job suck it up and show compassion and dignity. Don't let hate take over and abuse your power for selfish reasons .

It depends on were you live in AZ. You have evergreen like douglas fir, regular pine, juniper, Palo Verde, mesquite, grass, sage, etc. Each one of those only thrive at certain elevation which means you get a variety of weather all year round. Flagstaff summer, 7k feet elevation, is way different than Yuma summer, 100 something feet elevation.

Tbh Baofengs are just machines that have the capability to generate and receive radio signals just like any other radio. Only reason you'd be more likely to get dronestriked while having one on you is operator error.

My recommendation on radios: Get a couple of baofeng UV5R s. Mess with them, ask people around the internet. It's dirt cheap and has decent capabilities. You can squeeze 3,5 miles of range if you know how to use it. It's the top seller radio on the planet right now, and it saw wide use last year in Ukraine, tho I think they use 'proper', super expensive radios right now. Super popular amongst preppers. I think with some accessories would be perfect for larp purposes.
