Anna, you always make me smile and inspire me with all of your fun projects. Had to laugh about our fabric stashes. I need to live 9 lifetimes to use mine all up 😂 What the heck, it makes us happy and we will never be bored trying to figure out what to make out of it. I am impressed how neatly you fold your fabric. Years ago you mentioned the Thera Cane in one of your videos, so I ordered one right away and use it almost daily. I also purchased some for gifts. THANK YOU for another book recommendation…I paused and put the audio version on hold. 🥰

Anna I am glad you are feeling better. My Sweetwater quilt stalled as it is a surprise for my husband for Father's Day and I need him to go out of town for work as I don't have a sewing room and he always walks over and checks out what I am working on. I am hoping he will leave soon :) so I can finish. It goes togethers so fast. I have most of the large blocks completed even and I really need about 2 hours to finish, but then I also have to quilt it without him seeing it. I will check out the Sisterlies again. I saw Collen's trunk show a while back. She is a lovely quilter.

Oh, a tutorial on how to do the colored crayon would be fun! Have you ever used the fabric paints? I think they are for embroidery. I wish I lived closer. I could learn so many things from you. I know I would have a blast with you and "the sisterlies." I want to try the colored crayon. Maybe a stitch-along or QAL in the FB group would be fun, and some tutorials from you gals would be fun, or like a Zoom class. I don't know; my mind is racing. Thank you for the videos and friendship; so fun! My bucket list is to visit you, Oregon, and the Sisterlies, yes ma'am!

Yes, I can agree that it's a good thing that The Hubs and myself like each other. Either years ago we moved from a 2,100 sq ft. home to a 682 sq ft home..........so when lock down happened, we basically "lived" in our LR. It's open to the KT but the only place to sit is on the sofa and that room is only 12x14. The BR is tiny and there's not even room for a chair in there. So, yup, it was the LR for over 3 months. But not much has changed...........we still only have that room to sit in. We don't have TV. We do a lot of reading. BUT the basement.........OIYABUNGA............he's a "hoarder". Our son-in-law has refused to help him bring anything else down there. Last week our hot water heater went on the fritz and we now need to have it replaced.....AND it's going to be moved.........so he has to face getting rid of things. YAY..........so culling is on our horizon. Love this video.........great visit. Blessings to you and G.

Your start to quilting and declutterring story probably applies to most of us. I find that my ‘taste’ in fabrics has changed. When i started I purchase a lot of country style fabrics but now love bold prints. I have been taking fabric to my local Quilt Guild and making it free for anyone that can use it. Same applies to patterns.

Hi Anna, I am half Slovenian. My mother was born in Yugoslavia in 1907, which is now Slovenia I believe. She and her family, (mother and 12 brothers and sisters) had tickets to come over to America in 1912 on the Titanic. By chance, they sold everything early therefore sailed on an earlier ship. Just thought you might be interested in that since you mentioned it in this video. Glad you are feeling better. Have a good weekend!

I agree about Granny keeping the grandkids. My first 3 were born when I was younger so it was doable. But the last one was born 16 years later, ( a surprise for my daughter) so I am much older and too pooped for even an overnight. Which I regret because I was able to really bond with them. This grandson used to say "Granny you can't get on the floor or run anymore can you?" After 2 knee replacements and old bones I cannot. Change of times, lol. Take care

Hello Anna. I’ve watched your Roadie UTube channels for some time now but never sent a message along, mainly because I couldn’t figure out how to. Initially, I had the thought, now here’s a kindred spirit, especially after observing your selections in both quilt and cross stitch alike. Hey, I have that one too! I’d shout out. And, I am of Korean ancestry, even though I am far removed from that culture, my parents having transplanted us to the mainland from Hawaii when I was about four, and my grandparents and great grandparents immigrated to Hawaii a long, long time ago. I am self taught…cross stitch, embroidery, sewing garments, quilts, crochet, knitting, drawing, etc. Your Korean little peeps that you cross stitched caught my interest, especially since I had purchased the same pattern. I had wanted to make these for my own sis but never got around to it. I’m 72 this year and my sis passed away last year. She was only 14 months older than I, but always maintained the roll of older sister. Now I am not so driven to complete my Korean projects since I don’t have her around to tickle her fancy. Plus I suffered a stroke last year which has stopped me in my tracks. But! Popping in to offer my appreciation and enjoyment of your channel. Please see some of my stuff on instagram at c.k. paz. I also have a blogspot at www.calicoquilter.blogspot.com, which I have not updated for some time now. You might enjoy the visit. 😮😊. Sincerely, Christine

I'm so glad you and G. are feeling better. :) Your tutorials with SF101 and Soft Fuse have changed my stitching life so much! Both products are so helpful to improving the quality of my projects. I’m headed right now to my “Beehive” to apply some SF 101 to a bit if fabric and to Joann’s for some Soft Fuse. Thanks for the explanation on that one. Now you have made me realize I must organize my fabric, wonder what I will find. I love your grand parent rule panel, little ones need that kind of love. Unfortunately, I never got to spend time with any of mine. Thanks again Anna for spending time with us, much love to you.🙏❤️🎚️

Anna loved your video I was watching while I was sewing on my sewing machine today. You have to laugh 😂 With my perfectionism & OCD I really enjoy most of my time organizing & decluttering my studio. I have neatened so much I find a way to keep everything. It’s now just neat & tidy. A basket within a basket, a bag within a bag, fabric folded & stored meticulously. I find every time I donate or give something away the very next day I’m looking for it. I know this advice doesn’t help. But don’t get rid of it. Make a special box & leave it in the corner of the room for a designated time. If in that time you don’t take anything out then donate or give it away. Best of all make a swap session with your friends. They will love your treasures. Make a table with bundles with a pretty ribbon tying your treasures & write a note “Treasures from Anna”. Happy Stitching. Mariaknits27 💃🏻💕🏠🧶🧵📚🕯️🙏🏻

Anna love your story of “clear out what we aren’t using”. I did exactly that a couple of months ago and donated eight boxes of fabric, kits, patterns and semi-finished projects to our local St Vincent DePaul organization. They are a lovely thrift store whose funds provide direct assistance to the needy. My sewing room is lovely and my heart is warm knowing my offering helped so many. Blessings, Dawn

Hi Anna, Nice watching you tonight before I go to bed. Have not done any quilting for a very long time now and am ready to get back into it. My 12 yr old granddaughter has requested a queen sized pinwheel quilt and she enjoyed chosing her fabrics from my stash. All I had to buy was the white tone on tone for background and sashings because I had a fear of running out if I chose from my stash. Not quite sure how much that queen will consume. Nice to see you are doing better healthwise. That grandparent panel is adorable!!! HUGS

So glad you and G are all better! It is awful to be stuck inside whilst ill. ☹️ I had ankle replacement surgery on January 24th. Got out on February 9th for my post op visit to get a cast put on. I have been in the house ever since Feb 9th with my next visit March 11th. Thank God for cross stitch, knitting and quilting (not quilting right now) since I am non-mobile in a wheelchair. Thank you for your fun and informative (and funny) videos. ❤️❤️👏👏👏

Yes!! Anna, I had to pause the video to say this. Honestly, my brain would forget lol. Anyways, I'm so glad you talked about the "grandparent" travel thing, etc., because I say all the time, "I'm tired. I just can't anymore." 😂 I say it all the time. How did my grandmother do it all then with her grandkids and have them all over every weekend, etc.? I can barely handle my 9-year-old granddaughter. I'm pooped, lol. Oh my gosh! Anyway, now I'm chatting with you as if you're right next to me. ❤ Okay, back to visiting the rest of the video with you. Enjoy your grands tomorrow, and I love that panel. Talk soon. xo

I was feeling very overwhelmed a few weeks ago and I saw a post on Facebook that someone was requesting scraps so after filling two kitchen garbage bags I took it over to her. She was so excited and happy and that in turn made me happy. To be able to share with a new quilter I think helped me more than her. Also after seeing the panel I have to admit I am a panel addict and seem to gravitate to baby ones and those seem to go out as soon as I make them. Stitch on !!!

I love it when you get into a hyper-focused state! Good for you! And yes, we had our kids younger so our parents had more energy to deal with their grandkids. I would get disgusted with myself when I was babysitting for our youngest daughter because I would get tired. Our daughter would give me a hug and tell me how much she appreciated our help, and to remember that when my mom was my age, my (our) kids were in their late teens or twenties, not toddlers! Thanks for the sharp needle hint. Glad you and G are feeling so much better.

My mom's mother was a travel agent. My Dad was a teacher. We went to Europe for a 3 and a half months in1967. I was going into 8th grade. My grandmother was 30 when my mom was born. My mom was 16 and my dad 20 when they married, and 17 and 21 when I was born. (All our birthdays and in July) Everything was planned by my grandmother. We spent 1 month in England and a month and a half on the continent. We would usually say 2-3 days in each hotel. My dad drove us in a rental van. He even drove on the wrong side of the street in England!! Those were the days when you could travel Europe for "$5.00 / day" It was one of the most memorable trips of my childhood. We didn't get to Slovenia 😮

Thank you, love you too!! My morning stitching was brightened by your happy face. Your brain thinking of something else while you were talking is my problem, too. Well, is it a problem or are we simply multi-tasking? 😊. I sorted out a LOT of fabric 3 years ago, then sorted out MORE a year ago. I realized I’d used several of my favorites in several quilts and didn’t want to keep repeating fabric. Destashing feels good! Also, I knew I’d never live long enough to use it all. Is life in your backyard and pond waking up? We live on a golf course (we don’t golf) and have a pond (water retention but filled with nature) in our backyard. I’m watching a mallard pair on the water and on the far shore. They either have a nest or they’re ready to make one. Last year we had 4 ducklings with mama on the pond. Hope all goes well again this year!

Hi Anna, it is nice to hear you and G are better, I must have missed the "Quilttube" where you said you were sick. I went through my stash when I moved rooms in my house - and just bought a new piece of furniture to house the fabric. Then I just bought 2 fabric lines that I fell in love with, now I can't figure out where to squish the new fabric. I am writing a list of who in my family and friends who would appreciate a quilt and has not yet received a quilt from me. Otherwise I am sure I have enough fabric to last me till I am 250yrs old.
