My instrument is called "hurdy gurdy" and has its roots in the medieval times. It works like a mechanical violin with a wheel bow, that can play bass, melody and rhythm all at once.

I've always thought it was interesting how Patty's accent changes as she visits other places or moves into a new place. Maybe it's just because I listen to accents and where they come from.

@BloodyBay
@BloodyBay 4 жыл бұрын
Being a native-born Texan, I learned at an early age to accept the idea that _everyone_ - myself included - has an accent and a dialect of some sort. The other 49 states habitually remind us that the Texan accent is a rather unique thing, and we ourselves acknowledge the Texan _dialect_ every time we use words, pronunciations, phrases or figures of speech that nobody else says (ie. "y'all" or "ro-DAY-o" or "Remember the Alamo"). ;-)

Just discovered her yesterday and with the red hair and Celtic sounding music I was expecting an Irish accent when she talked but knew right away she must be German but has obviously been speaking English for some time. English is the universal language because of American TV shows I think. Everybody has picked up on our language and culture from movies and TV.

Same, I work in customer services too so I get alot of `Isn't it nice now that it's warm out? Aren't you happy it's sunny? Aren't you upset to work on a gorgeous day like this?' and iterations thereof. It's easier to get warm than cold, and I don't tan; I go straight from white to red.

Hello from an Irish man in Germany (Darmstadt). I like the sound of your music and I think the Gurdy would definitely fit in with Irish music (pre-organised tunes obviously). I don't think you have an Irish accent (sorry), but very similar to my students here (a sort of mixture of everything fusing into a Denglish accent. Stay awesome!

Love your performances! I've learned German from a very young age, although being from the U.S. and a fairly remote area, they're aren't many German speakers around me. Unfortunately my speech has become fragmented over the years while also trying to learn 4 other languages so I can travel in the future. Tangent being over, I've always loved Central European and Northern/Nordic music and instruments as most of my family is from there (Irish/Norse) Anyway, here's to much prosperity and fortune for you in the future!

Hey Patty, that is what swimming is for.... I love the Hurdy gurdy, I can hear it being interesting with guitars and possibly other folk instruments. May have to play parts and take turns but I am quite creative. I could hear them blending well too really although you would have to take turns with melodies. Almost like a bass drone for guitar.... would be neat to try
