Q&A Video with my Type 1 Diabetic Mom!!!

Hi all! I thought it would be fun to do a little Q&A Video with my Mom who has been type 1 since 1972!!!!!! It was definitely interesting to hear how things have changed since she was diagnosed and how she felt when I got diagnosed!!! Thank you to everyone who asked us questions! Let us know if you want another video like this and any other questions you may have in the comments below!!!

What a great video! I've had T1D for almost 24 years and my daughter was just diagnosed (she's 4). Both of your diagnosis stories were interesting; I was in the hospital for almost 10 days whereas after my daughter wet the bed a couple nights, I knew. She wasnt even in DKA, they were ready to release her after 24 hours. It's been crazy to be a dad to a T1D.

CDeanhartman wow crazy. I’ve had T1D for 20 years and always wonder how I would handle it if my toddler ended up developing it too. Hope you both are doing well! Your daughter is lucky to have you a as teacher.

Aaawww I have a black cat Louie! You’re so fortunate having a type 1 mom who’s a doctor. No one in my family has it, so it’s hard for them to really understand. I just had a low of 52, my highest was over 600

That’s actually nice you guys have that extra bond even though it’s over diabetes. You guys are so cute talking about it so natural. I couldn’t relate to anyone when I was diagnosed. Even still I don’t have anyone close to relate to (except my online community ☺️)

I was diagnosed with type one diabetes in August. I am 15 (turning 16 March 6th!) and honestly I’m so scared, you never know what your blood sugar is going to do.. you videos have helped me wrap my mind around it more. Thank you so much! You’re a big inspiration for me. ❤️
