About to finish my physics course this semester in the Radiologic technology program, and it was tough. I’m going to pass with a good grade but for anyone scared of this course in the program shouldn’t be, if you get in the program it’s because you pushed yourself and studied hard to get in, this course was tough but anyone who makes it in the program will be able to pass it, and also Thank you to Rey for the bundle, can’t wait to have it, it’s an early Christmas gift to me 😁

Thanks Rey for another great video. As professor Tim mentioned we have heard that physics isn’t the favorite subject. Please let us know what types of questions are the most challenging and we can focus on making useful videos on those subjects.

Hi! Depending on the state you are allowed to take the board exam additional times without re-doing the whole course, in FL there is a statute that supports this. 🙂

Hey Rey! Did you have any x rays in particular you struggled with as a student, and why? I’ve learned all of upper extremity, CXR and abdomen- just learned foot now on ankle. I hear the skull is the hardest- any tips on that?

I struggled with certain projections. Like the L5-S1 spot, Y-view, odontoid open-mouth, and of course trauma exams. I believe it's because I didn't have "x-ray vision" yet. It takes time and experience to execute these correctly with consistency. The skull is tough, IMO, because it's a person's head your imaging LOL and not like another body part, if that makes sense. So it's added anxiety. Once you get the landmarks down and the position criteria, it's not that bad at all. Just like with any of your other positions, communication with your patient is key!

How long was your wait in total to get in after prerequisites? Mine was almost 3 years!! So crazy. And during the 3 years I waited, I had to do 3 more prerequisites that they added.

So what I did was draw a stick figure and write down my techniques for every part. More so the ones I had trouble with. I would do this daily until it stuck. This of course would just be ball park numbers.

Do you need an AS degree in Radiology? I currently have an AA, and I saw on the ARRT website that you do not need a Associates in Radiology. Do you know anyone who has studied for the ARRT exam with just an AA?

You get your AA and AS through the program. At least most of the programs I know of in NorCal

@@deshawncongreaves9635 that's a good question. I'm not 100, but I'm pretty sure you need to complete the program. You need hands on training. And through the program, you'll be able to intern at facilities. Very unlikely you would get hired with no training through a certified program. There are so many things you'll learn from the program that you can't happen to learn by yourself. Now that I think of it, I wouldn't hire someone who didn't go through the program properly, you know? That's a huge liability.

I recently had a Zoom meeting with the chairman of my school's radiography program. I'm told passing a CAAHEP- and/or ARRT-approved radiography program is a requirement for certification and licensure. You won't be allowed to take the board exams otherwise.

Well if there is an obstacle in front of me and my dreams and aspirations, I am not going to have an excuse such as me being terrible at math get in the way. Find a way to get better at it. Take more time out of the day to focus on it and pass the class. Tbh, you barely need it in the career. So just learn what you have to do get it done. How bad do you want this?

When you put it that way yes. But I think what you were asking is X-ray technician and X-ray technologist. Those are different.
