11 жыл бұрынOn our first installment of Q Drum Co.'s "On The Road With..." we have Ilan Rubin with Paramore. Watch them perform "Now" off of Paramore's "Self-Titled" album. This was filmed in February/March of 2013 all over Asia and Australia. Audio from each of those shows is accompanying the video footage.

Illan is best drummer Paramore has had. Dude is dynamic. No offense to the other drummers they've had. I think they'd agree. Illan is one of the best drummers most ppl don't know about

Ilan did such an amazing job on that record. Paramore are crazy for not asking him to join the band. Although I'm pretty sure he's happier to pursue his own and other projects.

"That's not how it works"? The fact that Rubin is back in NiN shows that it's exactly how it works. Plus, I wouldn't be surprised if he did more with Paramore. Josh is a great drummer, but saying he's the "best" is a bit exaggerated. I've seen them both and, personally, I don't think Freese has anything on Ilan technically, plus Ilan has got the power and stage presence that few drummers do today. That's my very personal opinion.

Just to clarify, Ilan's partner in Q Drum Co. is the same person that built most of Ilan's OCDP kits. That's where they met.

He's the best in the rock session Industry. He IS the most called upon rock drummer there is and his groove is perfectly impeccable, something even Rubin doesnt quite have (i'm talking actual perfection), even though he (Rubin) is solid as fuck!.I'm not even saying i can play that well myself, but you can hear the difference in their sound. It's why he's at the top. Ilan is still the man is getting huge ups because of his amazing style and flare hence why Reznor wanted him. I love them both.

don't know if i'd go THAT far but he is obviously one of the best in his context and style. There is not one better then Josh Freese in this rock session world though. Deffs check him out man he's the king. He formally was with Paramore and NIN just as Ilan is with them now.

Saw him with NIN at lolla only reason i saw the too cuz i'm not their biggest fan lol but Ilan is my #1 idol as far as chops and creativity with zac farro my biggest inspiration. I'm seeing paramore next month wish he could be there he stomps on all the guys theyve hired lately...

Josh left APC and is a touring member of Weezer (Not full time). As for Devo, maybe. But you're right, Rubin is a musical prodigy and Josh has worked his ass off for many years.

chanyoungchik I think it's safe to assume that yes they do. Almost any professional act is using clicks, samples and backing tracks to fill out the songs or to get them as close to the album sounds as possible.

Depends on how complex the music is. If it's a simple guitar, bass, drums and vocals they might not use a click, but if you have samples and a bunch of other instruments involved throughout the song then they'd probably use a click.

and kids, lay of the 'Josh Vrs Ilan' nonsense. Josh is one of the most recorded drummers of modern times. That doesn't happen by accident. He can turn up, hear a song once and lay down a perfect take first time. Do not even dare dis him. Ilan is a super drummer, but he's the new kid, so everyone likes him and sings his praises. I personally think Josh doesn't get the kudos he deserves. He's an awesome player, a phenomenon really.

SiikP90 There's a 'discussion' going on here about Josh Freese and Ilan, about who is 'better'. Josh used play with NIN, now Ilan is, hence the discussion among viewers of the vid.

Josh is a killer player. One of the best players, and best session players around. A killer drummer with amazing energy, and just absolute rock solid technique for days. As a fan of Ilan, I'd suggest that it is a testament to Ilans ability that in his mid twenties he is being compared to the likes of Josh Freese.

Dennis Potter and I have better news,Ilan played with NIN twice. Ilan used to play with NIN before Josh Freese. Then Josh joined NIN and now Ilan returned :) but about your comment,totally agree,I love both of them.
