@@felixicon In my opinion it might be the best hiphop track of all time. Its not always my personal favorite in the moment, because Ive heard it so damn many times, and there are a lot of other great tracks out there. But in my mind its the PERFECT track. Soulful as you said, the rhyming and flow is on a whole different planet than most of the stuff youll hear in your life, and the lyrics are just amazing, melancholic and vivid, happy and sad at the same time.

Damn Nas should've used that earlier version of Memory Lane that Primo made on Illmatic...that shit is cold! That album was the perfect marriage of Nas' lyrics and production by Primo, Large Pro, Q-Tip, Pete Rock, and L.E.S. That's absolute and total respect from the fans and listeners when you make an album as dope as Illmatic...shit was ahead of its time and is just as relevant in 2016. Ab-Soul, Termanology, and Elzhi are a few of the best new MC's when it comes to authentic (and respected) hip-hop music for me personally. These new radio artists who call themselves rappers could learn from a blueprint like Illmatic. Dope and respected!

Q tip is a Don. Classic Q tip always bringing that spirit and energy of raw hip hop and representing what could only be the vibe and feeling of "A tribe called quest." Dude that is what i love hip hop for and this clip sparked that in me hearing that version of memory lane by a younger nas than the Illmatic him wow Q tips reaction too i imagine alot if dudes watch what he saids and studies it the dude really is a highly valuable teacher when it comes to hip hop. He lead so many people to that feeling and vibe man you can feel a rawness and energy to that cut that beat man of course give premo his dues damn so ill

There was also supposed to be another version of “I got the power” too. Different album I know, but, this made me think about that. Shouts to the big homie legend lord digga aka diggaman that’s the big bro right there. I remembered that version of Memory Lane. I liked the album version better, the chemistry was very nostalgic on the album version.... Sentence begins indented, with formality My duration's infinite, money wise or physiology. Poetry, that's a part of me, retardedly bop I drop the ancient manifested hip-hop, straight off the block. Really interesting beat. I like Preemo's beat for Memory Lane better. It gives off a chill nostalgic vibe that is more in tune with what the song is about lyrically. It gives you that feeling of reminiscing over good times from the past. I like Q Tip's beat too, but it should have been used for a different track.

True. The subject matter on memory lane fits the illmatic beat perfectly. That song made me cry back in the days. this beat is hot too but not for memory lane for sure.
