A Seattle intersection known for law-breaking, 3rd and Pike, has been long overdue for a "New Day." That's the name given to the multi-agency enforcement effort launched this summer in response to bloody rise in crime at the corner. Since then there have been dozens of felony arrests.

That's what I'm saying I was born in the beginning of the '80s and grew up in Seattle and if I wasn't living in Seattle I was living very close by in the King County area. This is not Seattle anymore this city is complete garbage and that tunnel is a piece of crap and so Bland I cannot believe they got rid of the viaduct that was one of the most beautiful drives in the city being able to look across to West Seattle

"Dozens of felony arrests"... and dozens of criminals given a slap on the wrist with a wet tissue, free knitting lessons, free tents and backpacks, free iphones to connect with suppliers, and s'mores kits to roast over their camp fires. That'll slow down these folks.

Seattle needs a new Mayor, Washinton needs a new Governor and every single city assembly member should be replaced this November. If they had got this under control before 2019, we would still be living there. But, now Seattle lawmakers can go to hell.

@@Harlowerayne two days ago I watched a homeless man obviously on drugs break out a very expensive window with a rock at the Target store on 2nd and Pike because the security guards caught him trying to shoplift. All he had to do was walk across the street and the three security guards couldn’t do a damn thing. Tourists and everyday people walking pastas if nothing was happening. The cops showed up about a half an hour later but obviously he had faded into the shadows. I see absolute craziness everyday as a construction worker in Seattle, but we now have no laws. The drug addicts and homeless have free rein on our beautiful city. All due to the decisions made in our leadership voted in by people who are just s crazy as the man who smashed the window. Our city and state is going down hill. Fast.

@@joesalzbrun7664 What a lot of people don't realize is that security guards have no police powers or any other special legal powers more than an ordinary citizen. @@ChaplainDeanna I considered that, but the problem has come to a (many, not just ‘a’ scary un expected number of items) wide assortment of drugs that in themselves aren’t something that’s life threatening. For example X or mdma. Someone selling some X at a rave I don’t call them a criminal. Nor do I think weed or even psychedelics in general warrant the extreme scrutiny of end user (I call them end user because once you shoot heroin or meth, you’re not playing you’re killing yourself) drugs. Fentanyl is being inserted into essentially anywhere. Not known to the young person joy rider. They shouldn’t be given a death sentence for unknowingly moving a deadly dose. It's been so sad for me to see so many things I remember when I worked downtown back in the mid-2000s actually from the late 90s through the mid-2000s all gone now. And I wondered why Westlake center food court is only like three restaurants and everything is disappeared at Macy's is gone I'm living in California now but it makes sense now. Nobody wants to be there because it's too dangerous to have their business and sell their food or products. We had such an amazing time back then and even though third was always a problem it wasn't on this level. In fact, I'm shocked that the McDonald's is completely closed I used to go into that place just to get something to eat and other than locks on the bathrooms because of the homeless, there wasn't an issue. Most of the time third was just a place where you had to watch out for people stealing but other than that it was pretty much okay. But I guess those days are over. Very sad :-(

Gotta love the young man sticking his tongue out while on arraignment in court. He's clearly proud to peddle the poison killing off people downtown. Disgusting. I used to live in downtown in the 90's, transferred busses, Can't stand how lawless Seattle has become. I remember how nice & civilized it used to be. Seattle, is now a garbage dump. I still miss the city but hate what its become.

Police get too little funding, and gets beaten up by all the political shenanigans and anti police movements. You cant have it both ways. Either fund the police properly, have faith and trust in them in protecting our community. Or do not have any expectations on the situation getting any better. It is almost like you get what you paid for. It is the sad reality, but its true. The police in seattle are trying their best, but they are being overworked, and there is just too much going on for them to be everywhere at all times.

Keep up the hippie commune until everyone with money leaves and the commune will collapse under the weight of there being no money left to prop it up. It's basically a modern example of what happens in the animal kingdom when a food chain correction happens.
