Good guide. Here's my experience updating activated windows 7 ultimate 64 bit on an older pc with i5-3570k processor and 16 GB RAM. The Microsoft website identified Windows 10 pro as the system I could update to. I downloaded the ISO file, extracted it and started the install as described in the video. I didn't connect to the internet during the initial install. It took more than 1.5 hours for the initial install to complete. No files and software were lost in the process. After the initial install the pc became sluggish and slow. I logged in using a local account and did not use a microsoft sign in. After some initial settings and testing already installed software which worked fine, I connected to the internet and downloaded all the recommended updates from the windows update app. After update downloads finished I had to restart the pc many times but after each time the performance improved. The whole process of updating and restarting took a little more than 3.5 hours for me on a 4G net connection. Finally after the last update was installed the PC was performing optimally. The update process takes time and is very slow.... but we must wait patiently for things to finish without shutting down or turning off the device. I think patience is the key. Thanks.

If you select the "Keep" option, then nothing will be deleted.

After I did the update my computer said “undoing changes made to you PC” and when I got back in I had the error 0x8007001F - 0x2000D. I haven’t been able to update windows since April and even this didn’t work. Do you know of any other methods of updating windows while keeping all of my files and game progress

1.Go to search option and search command prompt and run it was administrator and type sfc /scannow and press enter and it will fix it If it doesn't fix go to search option and type Services and enter services find windows update and right click on it and click start service.

No need of an internet connection, you can update it without internet connection.

Yes just go ahead. Once installed , u may anytime go to language setting n change or add languages, time zone etc

Yes u can. But better keep backup of iso file for future use like sharing with friends or make USB bootable

If you installed the Windows 10 version 2004 then go to the settings then Update & Security then Recovery on the left click on Get started under ‘Go back to the previous version of Windows 10. If this option not available then you have to clean install Windows 10 1909 using the ISO.

After "Checking your PC". I get an error "Windows 10 has failed to validate the product key". But I don't have a product key installed. What the heck do they need to validate if it doesn't exists!?!

@Ardeth Bey Unfortunately, it did not work for some heck reason I don't know. I ultimately resorted to a bitter, fresh install. It's unlicensed right now. But I really want this Win10 build 2004.

this is because either your current windows version is installed in an unsupported directory or you are downgrading to a previous version of windows

If I select the first option in "Choose what to keep", it sure that my files and apps will be kept?

Yes, you can choose what to keep. So it will only update your Windows 10 without deleting any files and apps.

No, you can simply update it to version 2004.
