So some of you will probably remember this property because I've already done 3 episodes here. Back then I decided not to clean up the backyard and some of the front as it was just too crazy. Well, I've had a change of heart, and I'm back to finish off the whole lot. And when I say this yard is crazy, i mean CRAZY! It's full of blackberries, rubbish, old trees and what's left of the garden beds. To get this property back up to scratch, I would say it going to be quite a few episodes. I'm going to do the best I can here, as the homeowner really needs the help. I'm also going to go back over the work I've done, as I could have done better! I hope you enjoy the episode and stay tuned for the biggest transformation I've ever done - What a challenge! All up, I spent around 11.5 hours on this job, including 3 trips to the landfill. This is episode 4 of who knows how many episodes.

FAQ's:
Q: Where are you located?
A: I am from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 5 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: Mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of bins?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I would say it's because Australia had a temperate to tropical climate, and therefore it doesn't matter that much if they are outdoors. To me, though, it seems a bit inefficient to have them outside in Tasmania with a temperate climate (coldish for 3 - 4 months per year). But that is industry standard down here 🤷‍♂️.
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
1. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering I always take away the green waste.
2. I don't have anywhere to store it, as my shed is too small.
3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on on to the properties.
4. I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k AUD on a stander, but it would be nice to have one!
5. I will get one as soon as my transport and storage problems are solved.
Q: What types of ladders do you use?
A: The large one is a Gorilla Adjustable Platform 150kg and the small one is a Gorilla Mighty 19. They are both adjustable.
Q: Who/what is Jim's Mowing?
A: Jim's Mowing is a franchise business. The Jim's Group is the biggest home services franchise in Australia.
Q: Why do you have 2 channels that seem the same?
A: Quick Cuts (my original channel) has music in the background. Quick Cuts V2 is for those that like just machine noise, and it doesn't have music.

Please George, pass on my heartfelt best wishes to the Lady occupier. I am well acquainted with family and friends having people with Schizophrenia. It can be devastating to deal with. George, thank you so much for deciding to do the backyard for this deserving lady!! Mental illness is so sad and cruel…. I can see she is a gardener and cares about her yard. How her heart must have yearned for it to be cleaned up!! This is my favorite thing that you do… clean up a total disaster. You do it like no one else!! Please let this lady know how much empathy we have for her… and hoping her situation improves! I know you are helping!!❤️❤️❤️

So this is the same house brought to your attention by your postman! Thought so! This is amazing. I still remember how much you wanted to quit on the driveway, that you were done with this place and good riddance, and wild horses couldn't drag you back. And here you are. Because someone who has decided to give up their time so they can take care of a family member with schizophrenia needs your help. This is above and beyond. And knowing your hatred of blackberries, to face an entire backyard overrun with them; the mind boggles. You are truly a legend. And an inspiration. Thank you so much.

I remember that one, George, and I also recall thinking that at some point you'd find it impossible not to go back. I also fully get the backstory. Absolute kudo, my friend, for going back.

OMG, George ... talk about "be careful what you wish for". Yes, I know I was secretly hoping that you would change your mind and take on this back yard. But from the start of this video my heart sank right down to my toes. I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this. "The Yard Restoration of Death", indeed!! Just PLEASE make sure it's not your own!! That said, you may have just saved two lives. All I could think of while watching this was how on earth could Mom and her son possibly escape from this side of the building in case of a housefire in the dead of night?? Both exits were completely blocked! All I can say is ... thank god you decided to do this part of the yard, even if you never did another thing here. Thank you, George, sincerely ... thank you.

You are this ladies much needed superhero called George.🎉 You are the best. Going section by section. Chop everything down, lower tree levels, only have one trunk of a tree. Easier to maintain. Once everything has been dumped like trash and rubble, and the property cleared, please consider doing a high pressure washing as the grand finale. Then I think you will need a vacation. If ever there was a property that needs serious help, it is this one. It is better to help this lady who is in desperate need, than drive around & try to find other properties. Well tackled. 💪👏👏👏

Oh George!! I am so overwhelmed by your kindness and the hard work you are doing at that home for the mum and her son. I had suspected there was a lot happening at that home and I feel so much compassion for them both. Schizophrenia can be a devastating illness to live with and trying to navigate a life with it can sometimes be all consuming. There is hope though and I am certain that what you are doing there will take a huge weight off the mums shoulders and will add to their quality of life. Being able to go outside and not have to feel the weight of the mess on the property may even be life altering for them both. Well done. I am super proud of you. I can begin to express how proud I am. I hope you are taking care too though. I am so pleased you are not pressuring yourself to do that job quicker than you need to. I, for one, will be waiting with anticipation to get updates over time. I sure there is a large amount of supporters who will be back each week to watch especially for this job. Take care! My heart goes out.to the mother of son with mental illness.🤗 Thank you George for helping this woman. It has to be both mentally and physically difficult to take on a job this size. Great job!!!! Side note; thank you for explaining what the chicken noise is. 🤣😂

It wouldn't have taken much for you to find Tutankhamun's treasures in this little piece of garden! 😄 It looks sensational now! Who would have thought that a staircase, a cute watering tap and an old pond with stone frogs were hidden in this jungle! I hope so much that the family will be able to enjoy the garden again! Schizophrenia is a cruel disease. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR GOOD HEART in helping those who can't help themselves anymore!!! GREAT JOB! Your fan of Vienna, Austria.👋

To the mom, I hope all of you are safe, it has to be heartbreaking for you. What is your healthcare like in Australia for mental health? It’s sorely lacking resources in the USA. It’s already such a big improvement!! The tree trimming was perfect!

George I remember this property and you saying the back was just too much and full of the dreaded blackberries. If I’m remembering right it was soon after you had tackled another back yard loaded with blackberries. You are a good hearted person to go back! As you methodically worked, I was amazed. I cannot imagine the happiness of the mother with all those hard memories leaving her yard. You have given her the opportunity to see it, smile, and hopefully enjoy the yard again. She is to be admired for her steadfastness! It’s hard to live with mental illness and I pray her son has been given a good medication to help him and her. The difference is awesome! You are awesome! May God bless your life. Watching from Texas 🇺🇸

Hi George, it must have been on your mind to go back and do this place. I understand George. There is Schitzophrenia in my husband's family too and that's so difficult. You are a VERY good man to do this and l am sure the lady will greatly appreciate all your efforts here George. The backyard is like a lucky dip you don't know what you'll get until you dive in. Thanks George, a massive job and hard work on your part. Thank you again.

Your work breathes new life into this property, creating a sanctuary where a family can heal and start anew. Your return and assistance to this family in dire need is deeply appreciated. Mental illness often presents overwhelming challenges that can drain the joy of life from not only the individuals suffering but also their family, friends, and loved ones. Your tireless efforts and dedication help mend the devastation, restoring hope and vitality. Thank you for your compassionate service.

I do remember this property. I am not sure what the inside of the home looks like but clearing out 2 doors makes me feel happy from a exit/egress standpoint. Now someone can exit the home and get around both corners of the home to safety if needed. Awesome. Huge job to tackle.
