I agree that Taufik is a talented player and deserved to be remerbered. But if you look at the results head to head between them on BWF website, you can see from 2002 - 2006, they played against each other five times. Taufik won the first three and Lin Dan win the other two (although in one match, Taufik retired). What you say: "Lin Dan failed to win Taufik" is wrong !!!!

Taufik lifts from the net rallys virtually every time. I think he's skilled enough to force LCW to lift off more. Just my opinion. Great game.

You can tell Lee Chong Wei is relaxed in the second set. Against Taufik's pace, Lee Chong Wei will always be one step ahead of him. Only one player can cope with that kind of speed: LIN DAN.

taufik is always a slow starter...but once he found his range, he can be unstoppable. at this moment, he needs to improve his physical fitness and stamina, so that he can carry out his attack effectively. his smashes are just superb. Improved physical fitness also can help him move faster and maintain good precision for his shots.

i just want to tell that taufik hasn't left indonesian badminton team? but he just left indonesian formal training team... without be in that team indonesian player still can play for indonesia based on PBSI recommendation :D

And then from 2002-2006,Lin Dan fails to even win Taufik once.The whole world knows that Taufik hid his talent to prevent Lin Dan from seeing his weakness..so Lin Dan is weak compared to Taufik before 2007.Yes Lin Dan is definitely the greatest player now but Taufik deserved to be remembered

Respect does not mean he consider that person a great player. Peter did meet Taufik in the past two years and he beat him in Indonesia.Since then, both have not met due to seeding positions and Peter has been the one doing well in super series tournaments. Before he retires, he never mention anything about Taufik. So it implies how un-important he is IN gade's perspective.

the way i see it. You can only talk shit about players or put them down when you have achieved more than them. And the fact that you feel so deeply about this just shows you don;t have any motivation or ambition in life. Feel you cant achieve what others have so have to put them down.

Why are you wasting so much of your time trolling the comments? Taufik hasn't challenged Peter in recent years, that's why he doesn't really talk about it. Peter took Taufiks chance at an AE Title. They do have respect for each other.

Before legendary Peter Gade retires and disappears from the badminton world, did he even spare a short time to describe Taufik in any of his interviews ? No. All I hear is Lee Chong Wei and Lin Dan this and that. That shows how unimportant Taufik is to even Peter Gade and the Danish people. They do not idolise him. To them, he is just a badminton opponent.

Taufik is the former world and olympic champion.. maybe that's why Lin Dan and Lee Chong Wei respects him so much. he was a gold medalist in the 2004 Olympics and i think Lee Chong Wei never won an Olympic game..

As for chong wei, he did well. but his attacks is getting predictable. opponent can figure out his return short position especially after his smashes. I feel that he can do better if he can incorporate more deceptive shots in his attack and improve his return of serve, so that to increase his variety of technic

Who cares now ? Lin Dan is better than Taufik and now Lin Dan is still capable of winning more and make badminton an even more popular sport. People see Lin Dan, they know badminton and he is the icon who promotes badminton. Seriously you sad people who still believes taufik is a legend, he is not gonna win anything before he retires this june. He cannot even beat Marc Zwiebler and Viktor Axelsen. He is going to retire in disgrace.

He still hasn't lost some of his edges but the skills are ineffective against the super Lee Chong Wei..No matter what Taufik plans to surprise him, Lee Chong Wei is already two or three steps ahead on him to command the rallies..so good try, but clearly his pure talent wasnt enough to match LCW's form at the very highest level now.

So you are implying that Taufik suck just because he is not as good as Lin Dan?You are out of your mind,which player is even as good as him?Did you know that between 2001-2006,Taufik could beat Lin Dan easily?He just lost the motivation to train dilligently and maintain his great form..sure his titles are definitely alot lesser than LD,but Taufik definitely deserved to be remembered.He has been on court for 14 years,what about LD and LCW?10-11 years?People like you should really get a life

Well despite how super-talented Taufik was, it doesn't count for shit. Even at his BEST in Athens 2004, he is no match for LCW at his BEST right now. He is just too fast for Taufik to keep up with the rhythm of the game. Both players are quite old but Lee Chong Wei is still playing at a superhuman speed.

If Taufik managed to even get past first round next week, we get another chance to see him getting thrashed in straight sets by Lee Chong Wei yet again. To prove who has been the better player overall that is Lee Chong Wei.

Lee Chong Wei is good enough to reach two gold medal matches and only beaten by a God. Is Taufik good enough to face the God's judgement in the final ? No he doesnt. That's Lin Dan the god sent him home early.

win by 1,2 points makes u have more mental strength ? no if u watch lin dan play he always uses delay tactics like calling for a wipe off when he gets game point or some shit. Lin dan is just a bit better than lee chong wei. ( this only counts around 2011-2012 lee chong wei at his prime and lin dan at his prime because back then Lin Dan was superior)_

@Miqilin7 How can you say that, of course LCW is better than TH, but there is not a big gap between them. Look at the beginning of the second set, Taufik scored something like 5 straight points. He was controlling the rally and LCW was in trouble. So yes LCW wins the match, yes he is better than Taufik, but NO Taufik isn't two steps under him, NO his skills are NOT ineffective and YES he is a match for LCW. Before writting just think idiot...

They do not have to respect him now. He cant win any shit this year 2012 while they can still play at the highest level. If they are better, why should they respect him just because he won 1 Olympic gold and one world champ. while Lin Dan has 50 career titles and lee chong wei has 44 career titles. Worse, both of them are still winning more while Taufik can win fuck all. Completely different league.
