I Agree with both of you. Sandi was really the only choice to take over the show from the god like Stephen Fry.

@@Fcutdlady I stopped caring about even checking videos out online when she took over. Not as one of those "She's a self-righteous SJW!" idiots (because, let's be fair, she's edgier than Fry, so people like that are just being misogynistic), but just because as you say, Fry was THAT good. But now I've seen some clips in the past week that have changed my mind; she's amazing and a rightful successor! It'd be fun to see Stephen being a guest himself some time down the line, sat next to Alan, obviously - I'm sure he'd appreciate not having to keep the guests in line, knowing Sandi has it well handled!

@Andrew Sparkes i agree with you on her being great etc, and that stephen should be coming on. However I find her a bit monotonous and some times uninteresting in the way she talks. So to me it's just a taste thing

I used to like listening to the news quiz (via podcast) when she hosted it (think it was/is on BBC radio 4?). If you've heard her on there she was the obvious choice to take over QI

Stephen or male guests would never get away with a comment about how awful vaginas can look or how unpleasant women can be to get a laugh. But he did on occasion joke about his private life. And Sandi is not quite as affable as Stephen, sometimes coming across as irritable and a touch spiky.

I feel like that's a conversation where she'd say she's having someone in to clean the curtains, and you look around her house and realize she's only got venetian blinds.

@@S4mu3L01 you have to realise that wasn't the end of sandi's sentence.. It may have been I once had a waitress who said to me.. Etc. It was their chance in the pause to jump in to make the joke she was talking about having a waitress (had sex with)

He did this quite a lot on the show, but didn't always work. This though, the stars aligned and was brilliant.

She almost certainly does that same type of joke in a sort of ironic way. I wouldn't say it comes across successfully all of the time, but I believe she's trying to pull off a bit of a subversive anti-joke thing.

In 9 out of 10 QI videos on KZfaq, she'd do a completely different joke, yet under those 10% you'll always find the "hurrdurr, she always does the same joke" comments. It's confirmation bias.
