I am so lucky to live in Perth Western Australia. I grew up going to Rotto (local name for Rottenest Island), I had a soft toy Quokka as a kid called Quokkstes, and I would use Quokkstes to try to make friends with the Quokkas. The Quokkas were mostly uninterested. Rotto is beautiful though if you ever get a change to come here. I should say though, the main charm of Perth and Rotto is that there is fuck all to do. If you want amusement parks and good shopping, go to the Eastern states. If you want to just chill out on beautiful beaches and in beautiful parks and have lunch and dinner in places that aren't super busy, come to Perth. Peak Rotto in summer is this. 1. Wake up at whatever o'clock you like, doesn't matter. 2. Cycle, walk or catch the bus to a beach and swim, sunbathe or snorkel, whatever you want. 3. When you finish, walk very, very slowly to the bakery to pick up lunch. You are so relaxed you cannot walk fast and you start speaking really, really slowly. 4. Eat lunch while looking at the ocean and not talking because you are too relaxed. 5. Nap or read a book until dinner 6. Eat dinner. 7. Go to sleep listening to the waves feeling a little bit crusty from the salt and the sun. It is actual heaven on earth.

My all time favorite episode of QI!

A quail fell in love with a small yellow chicken I had in a rather large flock; and he never left her side, and they produced a strange dark little bird with tiny tiny legs, a strange fat little body, and I should not have let him go. But it was definitely a blended bird.

My family celebrates Groundhog Day as it should be celebrated everywhere. We have a huge table filled with all manner of breakfast and other diner foods (celebrating Phil Conners embrace of "no tomorrow" in the diner scene), and the movie plays on repeat all day. All proper holidays involve some kind of feast. We eat when we want all day and watch the movie when we feel it and then pursue whatever other life enriching activities we desire. Everyone should adopt the practice and we should take this national.

Love this show! In fact the shell sandy is holding in minute 28 is a "Triton Trumpet'" which is a little better for making trumpet calls. The shell stuck on Allen's nose is not a conch, but a "Murex". The ridges on its back evolved to keep away predators, particularly other gastropods that like to crawl on back, drill a hole in the shell, and suck out all the meaty bits of the snail. Its a snail eat snail world.

Just a fun fact. They found the missing leg in a storage room. Also we want our damn skeleton back ya damn brits

Having lived on Long Island, the "Kwo-gue" or Quogue, is how it's pronounced. "Quogue (/kwɒɡ/) is a village in the Town of Southampton in Suffolk County, on the South Fork of Long Island, in New York." Since it is near the Hamptons, Quogue is a party village. Also some pricey homes.
