Today we explore Qiddiya, the new Saudi Arabia mega city being built. As we all know Saudi Arabia is taking mega projects to the next level, we have covered the likes of Neom and Red Sea Project in our previous videos but what is the insane engineering behind this Qiddiya, why is it so expensive and what is the story behind this construction project?

Foreign labor, like they used for the last world cup is how you build these places cheaply. Often contractors don't even pay the laborers, but they hold on to their passport so they can't go anywhere. Close to modern slavery. Over 4000 workers died building the world cup venues. I wonder how many foreign workers will die to make this project. Also SA is hardly progressive as the video proclaims. It is still one of the most regressive regiems in the world. This place looks amazing, but I wonder if adult women will even be allowed in the pools. Burkini's would probably be mandatory.

@@andrelam9898 The country you're talking about is Qatar not Saudi Arabia, these foreign workers deaths in Qatar are not just related to stadium workers. The majority of Qatar population is foreign workers, so it only makes sense that the majority of the country's deaths is foreign workers deaths. The second thing you need to know is , in Gulf Countries there's no income tax. The workers there get to keep all the money they make, unlike in other countries and western countries where workers will lose up to 40% of their money due to taxes. Also, the living standards in Gulf countries are a lot cheaper, workers there will be saving a lot of the money they make, a lot of the workers will also enjoy a high and safe quality of life unlike in their home country where it's a lot more dangerous to live there. Finally, you need to be open minded and look at things from different angles. Gulf countries have problems but they also have a lot of good things that you can't unjustly ignore.

@@andrelam9898you are just naive on what media feeds you...most of the workers in middle east go from india, pakistan and bangladesh...filipinos go for indoor work...now going to middle east from these countries is a dream for many poor people from these countries as they would be earning atleast 3 times what they would earn back in their home country...the living condition of the whole family of let say 4-6 people improve when one person goes to middle east and work...so idk why WEST are so fixated on human rights issue when people LINE-UP to get those jobs...some jobs even pay 5 times more than what they could earn back in their home country. Any more doubts you have u can ask me on it...

Look at Palm Jumeirah, World Islands, World Tower, Jeddah Tower, Mukabe... all of those mega projects already failed/are failing. and they wanna double down with this ridiculous proposals?! Qiddiyah is Qiddiying with us, a city in the middle of the desert where... i dunno... there is no WATER source to drink and live for god sake. and honestly, this one is even the most tame of the four they showed us. NEOM is one i just cannot for the life of me tank, given how ridiculous that vanity project is... no, scratch that... all those vanity projects are. it's like giving a kid a cheat code of infinite money and they still manage to lose at the game, WTF?!
