They created scarves that had a distinct QR Code etched on them!
On scanning, they took the users to a customizable website. It helped them showcase their personalities in a unique way.
As per the lead designer, Zeferino De Fretes,
“Having a unique QR code on the scarf that leads to your Reveals page, people can reveal things to the outside world. Things you wouldn’t normally share on your socials or in conversations with people who are close to you.”
Now that sure is one of the best QR Code use cases, right?
During the screening of the IPL 2022, viewers faced a blank static screen on their TV screens.
It wasn’t any technical issue but a commercial that said, “Inconvenience is regretted, Scan for convenience”
When scanned, it took users to download the Dunzo application for their mobile.
For Dunzo, this campaign was not only successful but off the charts!
But if you think QR Codes are just limited to commercials in 2022, well….think again!
Marvel’s television series Ms. Marvel, took the QR Code game to the next level.
In one of the broadcast episodes, there was a hidden QR Code. When viewers spotted and scanned it, it gave them access to Ms. Marvel’s digital comic book.
We say that’s quite a trendy way to get people into comic books!
One may wonder how QR Codes have become so popular?
The onset of pandemic was a globally negative event, but that was not the case with the QR Codes.
Instead, they hit a purple patch. And there are many stats that support the same!
The global market size of QR Code payments was valued at around 8 billion dollars in 2020.
It is now projected to reach more than 35 billion dollars by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 16%.
The growth in the QR Code usage has been also fueled by the growth of smartphones and internet usage.

Similarly, the digital-twin market is expected to grow at a CAGR of around 40% from 2022 to 2030.
With QR Codes being the most convenient form of access point for all these technologies, it is likely that the adoption of QR Codes will rise in the future.
After the success of Dunzo and CoinBase’s QR Code TV ads, other brands are likely to use QR Codes on commercial TVs.
A report by future market insights in 2022 states that the QR Code label market will grow at a CAGR of 8.9% from 2022 to 2027.
The growing demand for anti-counterfeit solutions is also expected to be a major driver for QR Code labels.
Research by Markets and Markets in 2021 found that the global anti-counterfeiting packaging market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 12.5% from 2021 to 2026.
BMW and AirConsole have already collaborated to integrate casual gaming into the vehicle’s infotainment system via QR Codes.
