2013 was an almost-magical but very memorable season for the Steelers. Tomlin nearly tripping Jacoby Jones in Baltimore, This amazing game against the Lions, the shootout in Green Bay, Started the season awful at 0-4, then climbed to 2-6, then made a late-season surge to go 8-8 and needed three teams to lose on the final week to make the playoffs. Two teams fell, and KC was this close to beating the Chargers. But Ryan Succop misses the GW FG and the Chargers won in overtime, leaving the Steelers at home.

I remember week 17 there was literally 6 different teams had to win/lose for the Steelers to get in the playoffs and all of them happened and it came down to Succop missing a game winner 🤦♂️

This was a dwamned-near magical season for PIT. 2013 was just like the 2001 Detronas Roguedemons Season in ZFL (only no postseason). The Steelers started the season at a ghastly 0-4. Though they managed to rake in 2 wins to keep themselves alive in the first half of the season, they would fall to 2-6 two games into the first half of the year after getting ass reamed by Tom Brady and the Patriots (it may as well been Patriots 67, Steelers 31). Following this ass reaming, the Steelers began a late season surge to end the season 8-8, one of these 6 games won was this game with the Lions, though their hard fought and not easily won Week 16 shootout with the Pukers hadn't gone without saying. They eventually had to win they last game with the Browns, but even so they needed the Dolphins, Ravens, and Chargers to lose in other to get in the postseason. However the Chiefs shanked a FG, giving the Chargers an opportunity to win in OT, an opportunity in which they took advantage of -- securing the #6 Seed in the process. As a result, the Steelers was written off the postseason contention entirely.

Don’t forget the near miracle lateral play to AB against the dolphins that same year. If AB keeps his toes in bounce the Steelers would have won that game in miracle fashion and would have gone 9-7, and probably making the playoffs. Crazy

I remember this game like yesterday. This was Antonio Brown's breakout season where he established himself as a top receiver in the NFL, this was when everyone said the Steelers made a mistake keeping AB over Mike Wallace, LMFAO!! . That season was also the introduction of Le'veon Bell and most people were saying The Steelers made a mistake drafting Bell, instead of Eddie Lacy, LOL. Peppridge Farms remembers it all

2013 was a horrible year for our defense. Horrible. We gave up like 55 to the Patriots that year.

Defense good in 2013? Lol! No! The defense was terrible in 2013. 8 of 11 starters were way over 30. Kiesel was old, Ziggy Hood and McClendon on the Dline couldn't stop a nose bleed or generate a pass rush. The secondary was old. Polamalu was slow at this point, Ike taylor was burned a ton, had no OLBs who could pass rush. All we had was Worilds and bust Jarvis Jones as pass rushers on the edge. Our defense stunk!!!

@@nick56677 The only good thing on that Defense was Cam Heyward and Jason Worilds, but yeah, we had a horrible defense.
@nick566772 жыл бұрын
@@pop3456 Worilds started playing solid late into 2013 once it was too late. Heyward was hampered by being surrounded by old players and bums like Ziggy Hood and Jarvis Jones🤮.
@nick566772 жыл бұрын
@@pop3456 Also forgot to add: Lebeaus schemes were figured out and so predictable by this time as well, didn't help that the defense needed youth and new players. Lebeau couldn't stop the Zone Blocking Scheme running offenses in the league. In the early 2010s I saw teams gash our defense in ad nauseam with no stopping it.

This game singlehandedly ruined the Lions season they weren't the same after this game and it got Jim Schwartz fired as it was a crazy downward spiral of a 2nd half of a sesaon. Lions came into this game 6-3 and finished 7-9 but improved greatly the following year but the problem was that Jim Schwartz should've coached that team.
