Cant tank you enough for all you have done in this hobby. BTW whats your opinion on 45 day fallow periods at temperatures of 80 degrees?

I think 45 days @80.6F is sufficient IF you also eliminate any hypoxic/anaerobic regions in your tank while going fallow: humble.fish/community/index.php?threads/new-ich-fallow-period.1824/

@@HumblefishReef interesting, but isnt that theoretically impossible for so someone to make sure there are not hypoxic areas in the tank? "Under the rocks cape etc"

@@marcelrodriguez2067 Whenever I setup a tank, I always make sure the first layer of rocks are resting on the bottom of the tank (or you can use eggcrate in-between the rocks & glass bottom.) Thanks for that useful video on quaratining . My question to you is, is chiller a requisite if the normal temperatures are above the tank temp to be maintained. What are the other options /alternatives?

I try to keep QT temp between 76-78F, especially when using medications which deplete oxygen from the water. Other than using a chiller, the only practical means for lowering tank temperature is to blow a fan over the surface of the water. You can also use ice in a sealed bag to lower temperature, but this is not a long-term solution.

@@HumblefishReef Thanks for reply and advice. For the mentioned temp, chiller is my only option. Fans will do the job but i am worried of the temp fluctuation that will take place.

Hey, I really want to quarantine corals and inverts, but I cannot as I live in a tropical country where the water can reach 114 degrees Fahrenheit. So, I can only quarantine fish. I could quarantine corals and inverts but I would need a chiller and it’s too expensive, so my parents won’t allow me to. So what should I do? Please let me know. Thanks a lot. Please reply.

Hey HumbleFish! If the ammonia badge goes to green (Alert) what do you do? I have a 5 gallon QT tank. Can you wait until it’s light blue to do a water change? If you recommend a WC, how much? If I can dose prime, how often do you recommend and when would I start?

@Jason P I would start doing water changes anytime the alert badge is not YELLOW. Marine fish (and corals + inverts) have a very low tolerance for ammonia which is toxic to them.

Hello, I have QT my DT for 6 weeks now @ 80.6 ° . Put 2 black mollies in for 2 weeks. Everything just fine 👍. Now for the fish on my QT, they were 2.5ppm copper for 6 week just for extra precautions. Not a single spot on them. Think it's safe to put them back in? I'm just so nervous. It was a lot of work.

@@HumblefishReef If I can pick your brain, is the TTM the only way to QT an eel? I really want a dwarf, but it's a little more work than I can handle with my current work schedule. I would be afraid of missing the transfer or not have water .

@@DesertRider760 Eels tolerate both Chloroquine and Praziquantel well. And that combination will treat all parasites + deworm.
