simple units - you mean like Diplomacy? scoring after every round - you mean like A Brief History of the World? new element to the genre - like not taking 5 hours to play a great wargame? Quartermaster General is fantastic - scratches the wargame itch without having to lose a whole Saturday to it. Nothing else does it so well except maybe 1775: Rebellion.

Looking at this game explanation, there's probably a greater chance that I would regard the time it takes as wasted.

This is the sort of game that gets better the more you play it, and a lot of the tit-for-tat with land battles can be overcome with teamwork (for instance, having Italian and German armies occupying Western Europe means you won't lose it in one turn of a UK land battle).

Review makes me not sure about playing it and then I keep seeing "Dice Town" on the shelf and remember the review for that telling me how much fun it is and then I think I should probably give this a try.
