Probably the most fairytale royal event I have ever seen. Very aestethic and beautiful.
We see all the Nordic Heads of State.... King Harald V of Norway, King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, President Guðni Th. Jóhannesson of Iceland and President Sauli Ninistö of Finland. The former royal family of Greece, who are close relatives of Queen Margrethe II, are also there as guests.

@@ellisbrandi84 Dear Brandi, they are 3rd cousin. I think cousin means for the 1st cousin only. (their parent should be directly sibling) but they shared the same great great grandmother which is Queen Victoria. So they are relative to each other, to be exact. Thank you 😊🙏🏾💓

Sadly Queen Elizabeth passed away short before this celebration. At least, Elizabeth had a chance to congratulate Margrethe on her REAL 50th anniversary, which was in mid-January this year. Elizabeth had her own 70th anniversary in February.

The Queen is so lovely. She seems so genuine and appreciative. From what I have read very talented in the arts and fashion. So down to earth. A very different aura as compared to English royalty. It was very respectful and kind to have a moment of silence for Queen Elizabeth. The people of Denmark are very lucky to have her for their monarch. May she continue to be healthy and have many good years ahead.

This must have been a very poignant concert for Queen Margrethe.She was known to be very close to Queen Elizabeth. Margrethe's nickname in European Royal Families is "Daisy" after her ancestor Princess Margaret of Connaught (Daisy is a diminutive of Margaret). Queen Elizabeth was descended from Edward VII,and Margrethe is descended from Arthur Duke of Connaught,They were both sons of Queen Victoria. Celebration tinged with sadness.

@@marcusviniciussouza1314 No, not Alexandra. Alexandra's father, King Christian the IX of Denmark is their common ancestor. Queen Margrethe being the descendant of his son, King Frederik the VIII of Denmark, and Queen Elizabeth being the descendant of Alexandra.

Our future king is a god damn "frogman", one of the toughest military educations in Denmark. Only 0,5-2% of applicants will go all the way. (frogman = frømand = maritime special operations force). There's a lot of appealing sides to this family.

This took place two days after Queen Elizabeth’s death. Their invitation would have been sent months prior, But because of her death the event was downtoned. The only monarchs in attendance were the Kings and Queens of Norway and Sweden, as Well as the former Queen Consort of Greece, But that is because she is Queen Margrethe’s younger sister.

What an odd choice to close a gala evening, Act 2 of "Giselle", when the stage is littered with the ghosts of gilted girls who died from being betrayed in love. Queen Margrethe must have a great affinity for the ballet for something so somber, and so ballet-specific to have been chosen.

It has something to do with the passing of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the announcer said at the beginning of his speech and asked for a moment of silence to remember Queen Elizabeth hence the sombre atmosphere perhaps. Normally ofc there would be cheers when members of the royal family arrive or after the playing of the royal anthem but at the royal theatre customarily there are no clapping and cheering but there would be nine shouts of “hurrah” which is like how in England one says “hip hip hooray” ig

Also. This is not a public event. The theatre is filled with invited dignitary guests. Kind of like at a State banquet, there won't be any cheering and applauding there either.

Happy celebration, now that we have web connection, wishing you such events every other country abroad, having Royal parties is the best way to build up new business partnerships and that's all what we need. It is said that the Queen really likes that spot, it's not a very good spot, because the angle is too sharp. The other VIP-seats are more to the center. But it is said that the Queen likes that spot anyhow, because she can get a glimps of the actors backstage.

I heard they are some special “Danish medals they are entitled to, not military. I believe one of the two stopped his army training at 2 months. That says something, and I would understand the challenge too.
