If any ship is going to have the highest chance of survival it’s definitely the QM2. She’s not a cruise ship by design. She’s an ocean liner and built as such. Her hull is reenforced to battle the worst the Atlantic can throw at her. People always get confused when I try to explain the differences between cruise ships and ocean liners.

Prob because people thought back in the day that a sharper bow is better Like how a sharper knife can be used to cut clean slices it's the same principle with the sharp bow While after the invention of bulbous bows.. because of the shape it causes less drag and also less consumed fuel.. The bulbous bow back I the day was like a slope like bow and now its bulb shaped..

Wonder of the Seas at full capacity would have had 9,288 people onboard (crew and passengers.) If in this scenario, the QM2 doesn't turn around to help and leaves everyone to die, Wonder of the Seas would still be around 400 people behind the worst maritime disaster ever, which is the sinking of the Wilhelm Gustloff which had an estimated 9,600+ deaths when she was torpedoed by a Soviet submarine in early 1945.

If you mean by casualties, Titanic has been topped for a while. The Wilhelm Gustloff had 9,400 casualties in 1945. Titanic had a great loss of life yes, but that’s not the sole reason why it’s so famous. It’s the time it took to sink, giving us the stories of the people on board during that fateful two hours, such as the musical band or the baker. It’s the very thing the ship represented. The biggest, most luxurious ship ever created (at that time) with the richest people in the world onboard sinking was unbelievable. It has long captivated the public.

This is fiction, but QM2's predecessor Queen Mary did the same thing to one of her Royal Navy escorts in WW2. HMS Curacao was a slow Light Cruiser that turned into Queen Mary's path. Collision was unavoidable, & the speeding liner sliced the little cruiser in half; it sank in minutes while Queen Mary barely had a damaged bow.

Yeah, but the difference was the Curacao was a vastly smaller ship compared to the Queen Mary. In comparison, Queen Mary 2 and Wonder of the Seas are both of a similar size, with Wonder in fact being the biggest cruise ship in the world.

QM2 is a Trans-atlantic Liner, fast and has a much thicker Stonger Hull. QM2 is made for very rough conditions.Look at Stockholm vs Andrea Dora. Not sure the Cruise liner would split but would be much worse than QM2.

Both Andrea Doria and Stockholm were built as ocean liners. Stockholm had a reinforced bow to help cut through the icy Swedish waters.

So splitting the current biggest cruise ship in the world in half is not enough to sink her, but ramming a small bulk carrier is. 🤣 Gotta love the logic of these videos. Anyways, to say it again for the people in the back, not a chance in hell something like this would actually happen in real life. None. First of all, both ships are equipped with the most powerful and up-to-date marine radar, so they would've detected each other from miles away and made the necessary maneuvers to avoid each other. Second, even if we were to say that both of their radars were down, QM2 would not be traveling fast enough in fog to spilt Wonder in half to begin with, as her speed would be heavily reduced per standard, and both ships would be sounding their fog horns to make the other aware of their position. Third and finally, it's highly unlikely that QM2 would be able to split Wonder in half. Despite her sharp bow, strong build and high top speed as per her ocean liner construction, end of the day, both she and Wonder are absolutely massive ships. While she would severely damage the cruise ship and likely sink her, I don't see her inflicting that amount of damage. Of course, if such a thing is possible, then anyone who is a trained naval architect and physicist, do let me know. Also, I've got to admit that QM2 really got me at 1:39. She came out of that fog like a shark out of the darkness: I didn't see her lol

Still a kind of funny watch though: with how QM2 came out of the fog and on top of Wonder at 1:39, I like to imagine that the two were playing some sort of twisted game of hunter vs hunted, where QM2 was the hunter. It's the only thing that really makes sense for this scenario lol

Куин Мери не расколол бы так бы как тут показано. Врезался в борт вошёл может на метров 10 в корпус и дал задний ход повредил бы себе передний отсек и остался бы наплаву,а Принцесса морей могла бы затонуть,но не так быстро,а может быть и не затонул бы все зависит от силы удара и скорости Куин Мери,но то как тут показано что прям раскололся за 2 секунды это чушь,Принцесса имеет ширину где то 70 метров.
