I've been going here since I was a little girl and the mausoleum has always been eerie, plus it smells just from all the vaults. 🕯️

My parents and grandparents are there, along with many other relatives and there is indeed a pungent smell, not necessarily human decomposition, but a sweet smell that stings the nostrils. I am very familiar with the smell of human decomposition, as I've been a police officer since 1976. I'd be interested if this smell is the remnants of embalming fluid or a sanitizing agent that is pumped through the crypts.
