I went to the theater alone to see this movie (Yes, I'm a loner). There were only four ppl in attendance, five including myself. 5 black ppl sat in a dark movie theatre, completely void of outside sound/noise, anticipating the characters next move until their demise. 5 ppl remained seated after the credits were shown, and although I'm not sure why we all remained seated, I believe it was bc we all had to digest a film so brutally honest that it was mentally draining and emotionally painful. This is our truth. This is our pain. I'm going back to see it again. #queen&slim

Jodie is a star she reminds me of Naomi Campbell just beautiful. She gave a beautiful debut performance. Those scenes of her and Daniel in the club dancing and the cinematography in the film was just gorgeous. Daniel throughout the entire movie was outstanding but the final scene of the movie. He did so much acting with his eyes was so Oscar worthy. I was really blown away by the film.

It felt amazing to see black love appear and deepen beyond the ordinary pigeon hole. The beautiful landscapes, the music, the depth and layers of meaning, the metaphors, the reverence of black life and love, twists and turns, hope ... I’m f-ing shook.

The point is that many Americans are losing roles to foreigners because there's been an anti-America bias in Hollywood this decade; far-left politics have infiltrated the industry. And for African-Americans, who have always fought/struggled to land plum roles, it is a disgrace to see foreigners taking their roles and telling their stories. Other countries protect their own homegrown actors, but SAG-AFTRA (TV/film) has been doing a lousy job in the US. One thing I'll say for Actor's Equity (theater), they do a better job at protecting American actors.

What an amazing, thought-provoking movie. I was blown away! My best friend and I had a conversation for about two hours after we viewed it. Jodie Turner-Smith and Daniel Kaluuya did outstanding work. And, I usually don't fan out, but Daniel Kaluuya is soooooo fine!!! Well done, what a great production on every level.

What I love about this film is that it kept me in the present. I wasn't so connected with the characters that I wanted to be them, and wasn't so disconnected that I wasn't able to connect. I was present for every single scene interpreting what was. Phenomenal phenomenal work!

Just finish seeing the movie and man o man what the discouraging feeling of being black and already tried and proven guilty before the courts even put you on the stand! Awesome film and the characters portrayed was just PHENOMENAL 📽💯! Just wished for a better outcome but that also means that the message was DELIVERED !

What a treat to listen to you all! On « respecting myself interpreted as disrespecting you » - isn’t that the basis of authority ? I hope you always remember how much love - its intelligence, its beauty included - you shared with us by making this movie. When I really need to remind myself of integrity, honesty, beauty and love - I watch it. Also, thank you for the references to artists and their art I had never heard of , believe it or not - I am now looking forward to « meeting » the extraordinary people who are also part of this extraordinary movie too, without « knowing » it. Honestly, truly , THANK YOU 🧡

Just Another Girl on the IRT... I am sooooooo glad that movie still gets love to this day... Lena is next and now. Those people are so humbly speaking of their art of which they've turned bullets into roses. The way they skillfully provoked emotion to audience members reminded me of the pride that stings the mind cuz that creativity is painted from our hurt. We need more reality FILMS.

People here saying it should have been by black Americans because its a "black american experience?". Wow...how narrow minded can you be...police brutality is everywhere not just in america...if y'all would stop looking down on everybody y'all would see what goes on outside as well...this movie is about the black experience...
