Josh's vocals sound identical to the recording. This is seriously impressive.
@TylerRajeski9 ай бұрын
prob cuz he doesnt do much to his vocals other than double or tripple tracking. doubt they use autotune ever. not really their sound

Funny moment at 2:57 where Josh screws up and throws in another verse. Bound to happen at one of the early renditions of a new song and they solved it really well. I bet many people didn't even notice. As can be expected of a band like QOTSA. Do love it when stuff like this happens to great bands - it shows that they're still human and just some guys playing a bit of music together.
@ringosteve217 жыл бұрын
I noticed that too. It made it feel more human. I thought it was great especially because they kept their composure. Looking at each other like, this even new to us. And then, together, brought it back in a smooth fucking transition.
@nebulousisgod7 жыл бұрын
That kinda thing is what separates the good and the great musicians on this planet. These guys are great.

Laurens Reumers If this was someone's first time listening to the song then it probably goes unnoticed. Quick recovery. But I also sense they had this issue before.

@TabethaAurochs5 жыл бұрын
I love Mikey Shoes. His and Josh's voices work really well together, an acoustic version of Villians of Circumstance is maybe the best example. He's really young, 32 - he's gonna have a helluva career. And my God his scream is just like the greatest thing ever - At the end of recent live renditions of Burn The Witch, so feral and it jumps like 4 octaves.

This album might not be for everyone, but for me all the songs I've heard are fantastic. Too many musicians completely 180 from what got them big (Black Keys "Turn Blue" I'm lookin at you) in an attempt to explore something new. Everything sounds like QOTSA, just a little different and in some ways a little new. It's them, but it's not the exact same. Great stuff.

I think Josh's voice gets better with every album, along with all band members' musicianship. I agree with others that I don't consider this to be their best album to date... but dang I really appreciate the new-but-still-familiar audiophilic journey the band sends me on with each piece of work released. Their music is a mandatory part of my daily life. One of the handful of severely underrated groups that I feel should be revered with the likes of Zeppelin, Rush, Sabbath, etc... not yet but within the next decade or two once their body of work shows enough consistency, creativity, originality, and sound evolution. In my opinion, the trajectory has been set and all that remains is the passing of time.

Since hearing this album, and mistaking it for bowie b-sides, I'm thinking this is supposed to be a darkworld version of heroes, or maybe a sequel. These guys really grew on me. When lullabies to paralyze came out, it was top 40's radio rock and i was too cool. It turns out, they were way too cool. God Save Josh Homme.
