I love how you can see the drummer and bassist look at each other as if to say "I'm gonna finish my part before you" "oh yeah? Let's race then! I'm no slouch either dave!" "OK, TRY TO KEEP UP!" at about 12:10 and the tempo goes stratospheric up until about 12:35. Watched this video must be a hundred times and never noticed that before.
@DrumsBah

I actually think Dave gives him that look because Nick does a cheeky bass slide to time with the end if each of drum fills
@isabellaai7274
@isabellaai7274 3 ай бұрын
if you listen to the original track again dave misses part of the fill, so I think that look might be mainly an acknowledgement of this between the two of them, but your interpretation is also very interesting!

I can't agree more, awe inspiring. I'm not trying to sound smug but I was at this. I was planning on seeing someone else but a mate said I had to watch them. I was blown away! It was the first time i heard No One Knows; the reason I've looked this video up is I needed to check that my memory had not become distorted over the years because I vividly remember standing in silence, completely sucked into it. The video confirms my memory. In retrospect I didn't appreciate how lucky I was to have caught them with this line up, Oliveria, Lanegan and Grohl. Strange to think but at the time Lost Art of Keeping a Secret was their big hit.
