Dude thank for the info. I was having the same problem with my truck. The speedometer wasn’t working and the transmission was shifting hard. I put all the sensors new and nothing. It all started when i had the transmission and transfer case changed at a shop. They couldn’t figure it out either and said it was a faulty transmission so i have been using it like this for the past 3 months and it sucked. I was ready to sell the truck but decided to give it one more try and do some research an came across this video. And I check the plugs, the one and they had been connected to the wrong plugs (same mistake as in this vid) and swapped them and bam the speedometer worked and transmission shifted smooth and normal again. Again thank you so much for making this video and sharing this information.

I had a similar problem. But on mine-rodents had chewed through the adaptor harness right where it plugged in next to the transmission--the same spot yours had the wrong plug in it.

I have 2 of the purple with whit and green and black but I can’t find any other sensors I have a 263 hd transfer case

The plug that you unplugged, where is it located? The plug with the purple/yellow wires goes to the speed sensor on the back of my transfer case, it's also the only one back there. There is a tiny connector coming from the front of the transmission, with the two wires from the schematic. But those two wires do not go to anything. There is a sensor on the front side of the transfer case, but nothing is plugged in to it. Do I leave the purple/yellow connector to the back of the transfer case? Or do I switch the two and connect a new connector.

hi mate,You know if the speedometer works in conjunction with the abs sensor? or so even with the sensor that the output of tranfercase? so I need to know a scheme to make a completely new link from the speed sensor until the speedometer.

what if the truck is two wheel drive and having the same problem only the transmission was shifting and the speedometer was not working? now the transmission won't shift at all.

My 94 GMC Sierra k1500 4l60e won't shift into 2nd gear until I get the speed to a minimum of 21 mph and take my foot off the accelerator. After that all other shifts are normal. I've changed tps, shift solenoids, pressure solenoid, vss, pcm and not even a hint of fixing the problem. HELP?
