I thought I had a stroke that was gonna last an hour and 35 minutes. I was genuinely spooked out about how vividly I remembered the conversations about the t-shirt sales. The hernia call. Shitting on New Mexico. The dude apologizing for not being able to follow the last call about monetary theory. The moment I heard "He's probably got kids all over Atlanta" I realized this episode was a live stream from like a month ago. It was still as entertaining as the first time.

I'm a "Pink" as my wife with olive skin occasionally reminds me. The Pink Privilege may be an undescribed part of critical race theory which has to do with the small Neanderthal heritage most Europeans have. A current theory is that pink skin is a Neanderthal trait that was an adaptation to living in a cold climate with less sunlight as it would maximize the vitamin D production by the smaller amount of skin exposed combined with the reduced solar intensity in the more northern climates. Other Neanderthal traits include being more physically robust than Homo sapiens and having more cranial capacity (bigger brains). An analysis of healed fractures revealed a pattern of injury very similar to rodeo riders as opposed to long distance runners. I submitted my chromosomes to one of the Genetic companies and discovered I have more Neanderthal DNA than the vast majority of their clients. In addition to being a Pink, I am also 5'8, in my 60s, lift weights , and am politically conservative. The Rippetoe name did not come up in my extended family tree, but I did live in The Wichita Falls area while an impressionable youth in the USAF. It is very possible that both Rip and I have an inherently unfair "Pink Privilege" genetic advantage over most of the population of this country. As of yet, I have not found a program locally to help me integrate smoothly and in a non racist way with the less fortunate around me.

Some suggestions are 'That's Not Heavy' or 'Why?' or 'It Wasn't the Booze' or Hip Driiiiiiiiiive' or 'I'm Now Leaning on the Earth Itself' or 'The Dirt Was Shoveled in the Hole in Clods of Five' or what about 'Here Lain Mark Rippetoe [sic]; Restless, He Emerged After Five Days Being Crucified Online for Most of His Life.' Nothing sappy, nothing that the other stones display. Your resting place will become a shrine and a destination of pilgrimage for many and even dogs you so love will appreciate your stone. Both sides will become mossy after time with frequent watering. Flowers will be from some thorny bush that flowers briefly each spring, but keeps most nosy visitors at a respectable distance (except the dogs in need to mark their territory).

I'd made an online purchase with Bitcoin some years back. I had some change left in that wallet after the purchase; I don't remember the exact amount but I remember it being so small that I didn't even bother cashing it out. I changed Bitcoin wallets when I made my next purchase and have continued to use that new wallet. I logged into the original wallet a few years later and that extra change from my original purchase had grown into $544. I wish I hadn't remembered that original wallet until recently.

I can’t buy a barbell off the shelf anywhere. How much price inflation is there ? The usual way of thinking is that price always rises, but that isn’t correct. The supply curve eventually matches the demand curve and prices fall in a competitive economy. What price would we now be paying compared to where we are ?

Just checked Rogue's site. Looked at barbells, filtered to 'In Stock' and I see a lot of results (including B&R 2.0, Ohio Power Bar, Ohio Bar and several other popular models). Prices aren't inflated from when I bought Rogue equipment in August 2019.

On real estate inflation, there are two factors contributing to rising prices that play a role. One is damn near zero interest rates. Also, the moratoriums on mortgages has kept homes off the market that might have otherwise been for sale. So, this has led to scarcity. Just more stupid shit our government has caused.

Paypal allows you to buy and sell in bitcoins now, so one does not have to spend their own money on BTC; depending on what you are selling, if you sell off your old car for the equivalent of $1000 in BTC, you might find that BTC worth $2000 after a while, or $500.

Rip's answer on bitcoin and the economy was very good. Bitcoin does not protect from inflation. A cup of coffee purchased in bitcoin went up 14% in March. Learn about the world wide economic environment BTC exist in, not just in isolation.

You mean 14% in US Dollars, i.e. 1/1.14 in BTC? The cup of coffee thing applied to bitcoin is the same as applied to gold. Still gold is a great hedge against inflation when stocks start to fall in a consumer products inflationary environment. It's called stagflation, look it up.

@@wreagfe I mean BTC dropped 14% in price. So if you bought it before it dropped, you can buy 14% less in BTC. That is inflation for BTC as a "currency".

Food prices have climbed significantly and gas has almost doubled since the election. How can Rip say no inflation.

The price of those items has everything to do with the scarcity associated with those items. Inflation has only to do with the scarcity of money itself. In the case of inflation, the scarcity is negative. When we "print" more dollars but we have not upped our GDP at the same rate, we have more dollars competing for the same number of goods and services, making each dollar worth less than it was before, which require more of those dollar to make the same purchase as before.
